What is the best method to control number of children?

Today, our church wants to have natural controls and doesn't want Christians to support artificial controls because of some reasons. They say pills may cause cancer and other side effects, is this true? Are their pill which has no side effect? When using calendar method, is this perfect? I need your thoughts on this.

To be honest, I never used the Natural Family Planning, or calendar method in my life. I had my first daughter and then went onto the pill. I was on the pill for about two years before I got pregnant while taking the pill and also had a miscarriage, so I decided that the pill was not for me. Between the miscarriage and my getting pregnant with my son, we were using the method of luck. Then, when my son was two months old I had my tubes tied because we had a son and a daughter and we really couldn't ask for any more than those two wonderful children. My best friend, however, does use Natural Family Planning. She's now got five of the most beautiful children in the world. And yes, all of them were planned (but I don't think they actually planned to have twins this last time). She has had nothing but luck with her decision. I feel that whatever decision that is right for you that you make is the right decision regardless of what the churches think.

oh really?! well, it's really luck. it's also nice to hear that you are already ligated after reaching the number of children that you want. that is really family planning-----HAVING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CHILDREN THAT YOU WANT AND BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THEIR NEEDS AND TAKE CARE OF THEM. congrats madam!

When I was on the pill, I had Ortho Tricyclin. It really was a good pill and I'm not going to blame the pill itself for me getting pregnant while on it and having a subsequent miscarriage. I was on medications at that time that rendered the pill useless and the doctors didn't inform me of this fact despite the fact that they had in my medical records that I was on the pill. If you do decide to go with the pill there are a couple of things that you need to keep in mind. 1) Many antibiotics and also anti-seizure medications (as was my experience) render it useless so when on these kinds of medications you also need to use a backup form of contraception. 2) After a long period of time on the pill you may experience miss or very light periods (this was what I thought I was going through when I was in fact pregnant).

there are certain requirements and protocol for ligation and if a young mother does not reach her total number of kids she has other options and study shows that the best method for young girls is injectable. in our case we have a 19 year old mom with three kids and underwent ligation because another pregnancy will put her life at risk.

Almost all birth control measures have loopholes. Although they are guaranteed to work 99%, there is stil that 1% that makes it not work. I think the safest one is abstinence. The calendar methos is definitely not perfect especially if your cycle is not regular. In fact, it is not really that reliable.

Natural Family Planning (or the calendar method) was the way it was done with my first three children. Number four came along (unplanned) and things changed after her arrival. I had two more children, one more planned and one more unplanned (even with the help of contraceptives) I finally ended up getting my tubes tied. After six kids, I thought it was time to quit. Sometimes, I regret having my tubes tied, and then sometimes I think it was the best thing I ever did. Not one form of birth control is 100% effective, including tubal ligation, and the only real proven way to prevent birth and is 100% effective is abstinance.

i never use calendar method since i don't have a regular menstruation and i can't tell the exact date of my menstruation, i use pills and it is not true that pills can cause cancer, it has side effects but it depends on the woman. i used pills after the birth of my youngest which is now 3 years old and never wants to be pregnant again that is why i continue using pills because it's the only method which i am okay with.

We all know that there is the natural family planning and the artificial family planning. The church has been strong in its stand to practice natural but it has become no use. I strongly advocate the artificial means. We have to make a drastic move to stop the ballooning population.
