Hmm... usually caramel and toffees will satisfy the sweet tooth.
But I eat many other kind of sweets during festivals.
Hmm... the one you mentioned, is new to me. Is it available all the time? Or only during festivals?

Asweetie, you have a festival season that lasts for a whole month? Wow, I would really like that. I might get hungry at your festival though, because I really dislike sweets. It's nothing to do with health or weight or anything, I just do not have a sweet tooth.
I saw your picture of the Jalab jamun, but forgive me, I still don't know what it is for sure. To me it looks like a really large grape, is it something like that?
Anyway, have a good time at your festival.

Hokey doodle, asweetie - three cups of sugar in this recipe? I would be bouncing off the wall for days if I ate that. But then again, I would need great energy to participate in a month long festival, wouldn't I?
Thanks for the tip though, by googling this item, I came across a great looking cookbook that I think I am going to buy (Indian Vegetarian Cookbook). I am not actually a vegetarian, but would love to try some of these recipes.
I was also going to correct the spelling (thought you were pulling a fast one at first - LOL) but I saw that the next poster beat me to the punch.
You have yourself a wonderful time at the festivals

I do eat sweets but when the festive season comes i strictly avoid sweets simply because there is a very high posibility that one is eating food that is made from chemicals etc. Especially items made from milk products. Tonnes of milk products are seized by authorities which have been made from chemicals and i wont love to eat such sweets. Moreover i need to watch my weight as overweight means an invitation to various diseases.

hi limcy,
thanks for the response and i totally agree with you about health problems and milk products adultrations but during the month of october and november there are so many festivals and so many sweets around it is so hard to resist and i watch my weight whole year, going to gym daily and eat very less so i just let myself go during this month.

Well, aswetie,as you handle testify,be sweet does not mean eating sweets or sugary stuff all the time. Restrain is the key word here if you want to keep your body shape and blood sugars down. Also keep diabetes at bay. Have fun but watch out for the calories and sugar intake.

Hi asweetie , I believe your spelling of Gulab jamun was entirely unintentional. If you spell it with a "j" it would mean a laxative and having "julab jamun" then would mean running to the loo time and again!

hi abhi,
thanks for the response and yes you have rightly pointed it was a typing mistake and no way i meant Julab. I want to enjoy festivals during this time and not be sitting in the loo all the time while everyone is having so much fun. That is why i always advocate mylot should have an edit button so atleast we can edit these kind of silly mistakes.
