Would you wan to live with your parents till winter?

Hi Princess, currently I have no choice but to live with my parents, it's certainly not ideal, when I escaped from my ex I was obviously homeless and that was now 2 years ago this month, I know how time flies, so I moved in back with my parents it was going to be just a temperary arrangement, however it's now 2 years, I wish I could afford my own place, but I don't work, and it's a catch 22 situation. I need my own space, my privacy and independence, I appreciate my parents giving me a roof over my head but it is difficult as I have to 'tolerate' my father. Once I move out again that's it, I couldn't live with them until they died or with one of them. I am too independent and that is part of the problem why I am so grouchy, moody and irritable most of the time it's because I haven't got my own place and my own space to be ME!

I'm only 18 so I'm still living with my parents anyway. I love my parents, but I wouldn't want to live with them forever. I have a strong desire to move out sometime soon to establish my own independence. However, I don't want to go very far. My parents are already pretty old (My Mom had me when she was 40), so they might not have much longer. I'd like to stay in the area and if need be move back in with them to take care of them.

I haven't lived with my parents since 1982. I don't really see a circumstance where I would end up living with my dad and step-mom (my mother is deceased). But I could see my dad ending up needing to come and live with us. And he'd be welcome, though one of the kids would have to give up their room...

No, I would not want to live with my parents. They can be very controlling. No matter how old we all get, they still see me as their child. They are old and very set in their ways. It would be their home with their rules. I have been away from home for so long now. I could not go back to stay. I do enjoy visiting with them though.

I love my parents dearly, but no, I would not want to live with them until they passed. I have had to live with them a few times since I first moved out on my own and each time, I did what I could to help them and made my stay as brief as possible. I have children of my own, and my younger brother still lives at home, so, inter-mixing my household with theirs had a lot of ups and downs. I would live with them if I had to, but I really prefer to have my own home.

When my growing age, I really like to live with my parents, because I lived with my parents I can find the home very warmly, and I can get my parents concern, love and education. But when I married, my husband requests me to live with his parents together.But I found what the problem, it exsits the gap between I and his parents, different family, different custom, so I think it needs time for me to fit his family. If he agree, I prefer to live separately, like you said, though you didn't live together with you dad, but you can often to visit him more.

I would definitely live with my parents if I can. I'm the only son and I feel a responsibility to take care of them. Though I expect them to be cranky when they get older, well they are already quite cranky, but I guess this is just an exchange for taking care of me when I as my unreasonable child self.

Well I am already living with my parents. but the childerens who must have to go far away for the studies,the condition of the childerens at that time is really not imagineable.every chideren has the desire to study and also stay with his/her parents but this does not occur.

I told my Mom years ago she would never go to a nursing home, that when she couldn't live on her own she would come live with me - we are both fine with that (as long as I find a place to live now) but afraid my step-dad, bless his heart I love him dearly would drive me crazy in a week's time and sure I would him also. We both respect and appreciate each other but in our own spaces under the same roof I'm not so sure how it would work.

I lived with my Dad for about 2 years 4 years ago. My Mum passed away in 2002. It was a difficult situation for me to be in because I had nowhere else to go. The last time I had lived at home my father had thrown me out into the street. He was a difficult man to get along with.

He is quite elderly now and I am well into middle age but he treated me like a child and I basically had no freedom because he would question my comings and goings. Apart from that he has mellowed a whole lot and is a lot more easy going but when he mistreated my dog, that was the last straw. He has this cruel streak towards all animals and I cannot, will not tolerate that. I was lucky to get a huge opportunity to come my way and move out. I still visit and look after him if I'm needed to.

There are other family issues that would stop me living with him again even if I thought he needed me.
