Paranormal Activity *****

"Paranomal Activity would like to thank the families of Micah Sloat and Katie Featherston, and the San Diego Police Department." This is the first thing that you see when this movie starts... It starts off introducing the cute couple--they're boht lovable people...the guys funny, the girl puts up with him...lol. So, the story is something has been "following" this girl since she was 8 years old, wherever she goes, it ends up. Now, she is living with her boyfriend, and whatever 'it' is has come back for one last attack, torturing them emotionally and mentally throught out their nights. This movie is THE SCARIEST movie I have seen IN MY LIFE. If you don't like movies, don't go to this!! Usually after I see a scary movie (like The Descent or Pandorum) I think to myself how it was fun to get scared....halfway through this movie I kept saying to myself 'this is NOT okay!' I did not enjoy the way this made me feel, I really thought I would have a heart attack from the suspense and horror of it. My sister wants to know why I won't buy it on DVD when it comes out...Simple. I don't want that movie in any house that I am living in.... I would never tell someone that it's a bad movie, don't go. It is a good movie, just TOO scary for me....so this movie is NOT for the faint of heart!!!!!

When I first read your post I thought this has to be a viral marketing but then I checked your postcount so I guessed not. This movie sells itself with a slogan "scariest movie ever made" but I doubt it could live up to it. I dunno, I've seen the trailer that didn't show anything at all but that works with me cause I like mystery. I'd like to see a movie that would scare the crap out of me but I don't believe movies can really scare you anymore today. I mean when someone plays horror games it's much more frightening experience because you're facing monsters scarier than anything ever appeared on the big screen and they're going after YOU and not some guy on the screen. I still enjoy watching horror movies even tho they don't scare me but I hope this one will do it somehow... What's so scary about this movie anyway? Should I watch it alone at home or in the cinema for the better experience?

stupid question on my part...what do you mean you thought this was viral marketing from me? lol DEFENIATLY see it in theaters with other people around! The big screen and surround sound will make it SOOO much scarier for you! And I agree that most movies made today won't scare you becuase they are all about blood and gore and not actual terror....Paranormal Activity is ALL TERROR! My sister and me were both literally cringing in fear during the movie, and I kept hiding my face against her shoulder or just turning towards her and pluggin my ears lol. And her face was PRICELESS some of the times (boo! there is no SCARED smiley face I can use on here!) lol. But some of her facial expressions said, "oh my god! NO!" lol (I probably looked worse :P) This movie will not dissapoint! It IS defeniatly the scariest movie ever made that I've seen! (In all fairness I've never seen The Exorsist and I never will) lol

About viral marketing...I've heard they pay people to post on different forums about how this is the scariest movie ever. Actually I've seen some of those post but not yet on mylot. Now I really want to see this. Hope it's at least half as frighting as you say. You should watch exorcist btw. It's not really scary but it's pretty good.

I have seen the trailer.I am not really a scaredy cat,but based on the trailer alone,I WILL NOT watch this movie.I will not be able to sleep when I see it.I don't care if I'm the only person on earth who'll never watch it.I want to sleep soundly.I haven't gotten over being scared of that blanket scene in the Japanese horror movie "The Grudge".I will do myself a favor and will not watch another horror movie who will give me the chills.

I dont think you'll be the only person on earth who won't see this movie lol :D I think many people feel the same way as you... I saw the Grudge, I can't quite remember the blanket scene in it...is that when it looks like something is slithering up from the foot of the bed towards her, and she lifts it and the girl is there? I HATED the whole part in that movie when the girls jaw is ripped off OMG! (But paranormal activity is scarier than the grudge!) lol

That scene in the Grudge was defeniatly good and scary!!! :) But every scene (once it starts getting scary) is scarier than anything the grudge has...it's all about the suspense and the "not seeing"....with the grudge you see the ghosts (FYI it isnt a ghost in P.A)...but you don't ever really see the thing in Paranormal Activity, and thats SCARY! lol

You're the second person to say this movie is so scary, that I've encountered thus far. My roommates and I have been in serious need of a good scare here lately. I'll have to give it a try--probably on DVD. thanks! dr...

Ooo if you guys want a scary movie this is defeniatly the one for you!! If you do watch it on DVD, it's gotta be at night and you have to have all the lights off! lol. The darkness of the theater probably added to the scariness, plus the giant screen. But I think as long as you are surrounded by darkness while you watch it, it'll be scary! lol

Hey, I havent seen any freaky movie for a long long time . I dont find movies scary these days and actually the real life is a lot more freakish that to c anything scary in the threatre, lol. Well if i get an oppurtunity then c this one. The problem is if I go with my friends, they are all pranksters and they will make a mockery of the movie. So instead of getting scared we may have plenty of laught, which is good too . Cheers, Tutul

Well this movie is done so well it seems like it's really happening. It's filmed the same way Cloverfield and Blair Witch Project were, so you're right there in the action! But this movie is 100 times scarier then either of those movies!! Don't let your friends ruin this movie for you! Getting scared is the reason you go to this movie, and it's the fun part of seeing it!!!

You're tougher than I am young'in. I can't watch scary movies unless they're spoofs like Scary Movie. Scary movies freak me out. They make me afraid in my own home and I don't like that. You've found a movie that has made you feel the way I've always felt about horror films in general. I don't find them fun because they freak me out. I wish I did find them fun, actually, nah. I like comedies, love stories, etc. I can live without horror movies. But I've been like this all my life, even as a kid, never really wanted to watch those movies.

The scary movie spoofs are funny! lol. I like the Scream movies too, I've seen them all. I think usually other horror movies I see aren't as scary because they aren't as real as Paranormal Activity seems. But when I tried to go to sleep today I couldnt stop thinking of the movie! I would try to think of something else but couldnt concentrate on it! lol

Is it scary from suspense, or from gruesome, gory scenes? See, I hate gore! Suspense is fine, but gore is a "must be sure to miss it" for me! I have this odd idea that people's innards should stay in 'em. Otherwise they'd probably be called outards...right? Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

lol, i'm with you...i HATE blood and gore and when I go to a movie to get scared and thats all there is I'm very disapointed. THERE IS NO GORE in this movie...there is some blood but it isnt gory/graphic in any way--and it's only literally in the last 1 minute of the movie--that's it. This movie is TRUELY just SCARY.

Well I can't 100% garuntee that this movie will scare you :D But I can say it would scare my entire family and all my friends! lol. I think it is defeniatly worth giving it a chance--even if it doesn't scare you, it's a good/entertaining movie :)

Okay, scary's okay. Frankly, though, I kind of wish a movie could scare me at my age! It's been mumbldy-mumble decades since any "scary" movie earned that title for me! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

I've seen the preview... hope it scars the h*ll out of me... Does anyone here know a site where we can watch it??? I think they won't be showing that movie here in our area...

It will scare AND scar the h*ll out of you! lol. It's probably not the best idea to watch it on your computer...but if you go to their website, you can demand it in your area if it isn't already there. I had to demand it, and about 2 days lady it came here! Plus, it is getting so much hype, it'll probably start showing everywhere.

I have never seen the Exorsist, and I never will. But my dad has, and he compared Paranormal Activity very highly too it...if you do go to this movie just remember while you're watching it: if you think the middle of it is bad enough, wait until the last 10-15 minutes....I swear I thought they would have to carry me out on a stretcher!!!! lol
