Between father or to mother: Whom do you think the child is more attached? email this discussion to a friend?

In general, I could say that a child is more attached to the mother. As mother spend more time with their children and mother shows more emotional support to their kids.

As a consequences, a child is more closer to their mother than to the fathers.
A father is very proud of his child and their children is also proud of their father.

Father may not be showy about his feelings but he takes it it upon himself to be a protective, responsible over their his children future by providing financial support and sending them to schools.

Both parents takes turn into rearing their child to becomes responsible adults. In cases the children commit mistakes they engage the child in conversation in seeing their mistakes and corrected in such a way that children learn from it and benefited.

Who do you think the child is more attached: to the father or to the mother? Who is more stricter when it comes to discipline?
Kindly shares your thoughts. Thank you. happy

yeah, i quite agree that a child is more attached o the mother. this is probably because a child spends more time with his mother and the mother is more concerned about her child. a father, in a child's mentality is normally an icon, an exaple that he one day would like to turn to be. also, a father usually involves less, much less according to experts in childcare.

In my view...I believe when they are young, daughters are closer to fathers, and sons are closer to husbands. When the children leave the home to get married or school, then I think it reverses - daughters get closer to mothers because then they are more of a friend to each other than parent and child, and the same for the son who gets closer to fathers because they can now do adult male things together.

When it comes to strictness, the one who stays home and does more of the discipline can appear to be the stricter one, however it is often only because they have to dish it out more than the other parent. And it is often that the children don't listen to the stay at home parent as well, because they hear that same voice all day long, and they get used of it. Whereas when the working parent comes home, and they have to lay down the law with their kids, the kids tend to listen more because they are not used of hearing that authorative figure all day.

I think there is no hard and fast rule regarding it. I have seen that mostly a girl child will be attached to her father more and a boy child will get attached to his mother more. Also, there is a difference according to the time the child get to spend with the parents. If the father is working in a different country and the mother is at home, of course the kids will be attached to the mother.

hi joy,
I observe it too and in my cases I am more closer to dad when I am still a kids then it slightly wean..but this closeness changes when I grow old as i am more closer to mom when it comes to heeding their advices when it comes to the matters of the hearts and girl talk which I could not ask my father as surely he have nothing to contributes. I see itself i am more closer to my father when I was still a kids as his constant companion wherever he goes out of the house. Thus, even up to now everything changes as my mom still feel strong while my father is quite the mellow types who are not easily mad after committing mistakes. happy

Hello neelianoscet.How are you doing?
well when it comes to attachment, then a child is more atached to his/her mother when they are todlers or just born.Because she is the only person at that time who understand her baby.
When the child slightly grows it depends on who takes the care of the child and who is more leneant with them, they get more attached to either of them, whom they think can understand their feelings better than the another. For me its my mother who understands me at some extent atleast.

hi archie,
I am fine,How about you? The mother is the one who gives birth and therefore most children either males or females get more closer to mother. Thus, creating bonding which are very important to let the children be aware of shares parenting. Thus, when children grow up they would seek both the cares and advices from both parents. happy

Certainly there is nothing like a mother’s nurturing but I think it does depend who a particular child is closest to. A lot of the time little girls are very close to their dads and little boys to their mums but it does vary, in my case my daughter adores her daddy but she told me she could never live without me and we are very close; I would say she is closer to me than her dad because of the amount of time she spends with me and the activities we share together. It is open to different situations and people.

That is really true and I myself observe from my own experience when I was at the age of 2 up to 6 years old I am a daddy's girl and I always accompany him and would cry every times I do not see him. Then, when I reach my teenager level, I am more closer to my mother as i could ask her about all the girl things which I could not ask to m father as he himself have limited information. Then, my father is not stricter to me in terms of doing the house hold chores and most of the times it is my mother then my father scold me when I come home late at night..So far all parents have different strategies when it comes to good parenting. Both are important. In your cases your daughter is closer to you and me too think it too when it means to the proximity as I am always my mom assistance, but when it comes to scolding my father is quite low in temperaments than my mom. Thanks for responding. happy

Well,i think both is attached to the child. Yes mothers are close but fathers are also taking that position.Nowadays, childern are leave to their grand parents and servents when their parents go for work. But in the evening when the parents come back then they love and explain the child.Even it also happen that mother went for her work and father has to look after the child. So i think nowadays both parents have same attachement for the child.

Yeah, that is the right balance of an ideal family when both parents are sharing equal responsibilities in managing their children lives guiding them toward learning the basic values which going to help them succeed in their future endeavor in life. Parents may not be always seen by children but they both love their children and have to work not just to stay at home as they need to earn through to survives the cost of daily living. Thanks for responding. happy

its the mother who takes care of you when you feel ill.
she makes you belive in god and dad also plays the same role but mothers love is diffent and is also not negociable.
happy mylotting.

We both love our parents, but I can say that a child is more attached to mother. Simply because we came from her womb, she is the one who take care of us since birth until we grow old. The mother is the first person who can relate to a childs need.

myLot reputation of 84/100. neelianoscet (2002)   ranked 473 out of 19,216 in questions & answers  2 months ago

Yeah, that true and even though children could not be made without the father help. Still the children are more attached to the mother who do all the responsibilities in the household chores, tending too the need both of the children and husband. Both a loving mother and wife. happy

Yes, I agree with you mothers tend to be closer to their children as they have not only carried them in pregnancies for 9 months, mothers are also there with them always while fathers tend to be away most of the time. I am never close to my father as he was a disciplinarian and he has planted a fear in me from young. I only came very attached to him during his last days on earth as I was the one who looked after him in his sick bed.

Parents have their own shared responsibilities in nurturing and caring for their children but it varies who spend most of the times to children. Mother is the person who have most the concern for the welfare of their children, as started in the early childhood. Children are taught important manners including teaching them household chores being a helper to lighten the load of the mother. Mother too becomes the first teacher as she teach the children good values and then let the children learn the basic alphabet, spelling, reading and writing. Then, father could only see children after work and frequently spend with their children for a shorter times. Thus, the bonding between mother is more evidence having seen each other most of the times. happy

For me, when I was young, I usually want to attachd to my mother as my mother never beat or blame me even when I have make some mistake, but my father is very stict to me and always blame me this or that, during that time, i think, my mother is very kind and I also like to go with her.

but when i grow up, i know that my father also love me very much, he must treat me very strictly so that I can do right things and have good habits for my life...maybe many guys have same feeling with me to his/her parents.

Mother are all concern with the welfare of their children and think of nothing else but good things to happen to their children. Yeah, father is always strict to their daughter and like to obey their every command especially when it comes to dating they are very careful with their daughters always reminding them to be careful with their self never to trust anyone who would take advantages of them. happy
