swine flu or H1n1 virus

yeah swine flu isnt super deadly...its just a strong flu.. but it can be dangerous in people that have weak immune systems or have chronic diseases...but healthy people can expect to recover from it if it is monitored properly

I am concerned but no more so than I am about any other flu. I'm not planning on taking the shot because I have an allergy to one of the ingredients and was advised not to.

I'm not getting the shot. We wanted my mom to get it, but when she went to the doctor a week ago they didn't have the swine flu vaccine in yet, so she just got the regular flu vaccine. I didn't get one at all, neither did my dad. And my sister and brother-in-law who live a couple of hours away from us haven't either. I'm not too concerned about getting it. There are a couple of people who got it that go to my church. Two of them were little kids, but they recovered fairly quickly.

Hi snowy! Nope, i won't be getting the shot, it hasn't been out long enough to know the side effects and I don't really want to be the ginea pig for drug companies.

I have not decided and the swine flu shot is not available in my area. My brother's daughter's husband got sick with and spend a week in the basement since they have two young children. Alaska is being hit hard with the swine flu since the state has a lot airplanes flying in there. The best solution is wash your hands regularly and run the dishwasher daily.

I am dealing with a bad cold right now which makes it difficult to breathe, had a sore throat for one day only. NO I will not get a shot for the flu or swine flu. Knock on wood I have been lucky and even though I usually get one cold every winter it never makes me sick enough to be homebound.

The Swine flu is a variant of the flu out in the world that we see each year. It has been hyped as extremely dangerous and although it has caused some deaths is not as dangerous as previously thought.
I do not advocate the flu shot. If you have had exposure to this shot(as you may have been with your family) you will actually have a chance of getting only the dangerous side effects without any of the benefit. If you are exposed to it and do not get it; your body has already built antibodies to this illness. This will make you stay healthy. But if you get the vaccine you can have problems.

Ya know, it's about like any other flu, they're just hyping it up. People die every year from the flu because they are weak or they don't get the proper medical attention. I'm not getting the shot - I don't like putting unknown foreign substances into my body.

If you are not asthmatic or have any bronchitic conditions then you really do not need to consider getting a swine flu vaccine jab. So, your sister's family cannot be taken as a guideline for you here.

One step at a time. Just react accordingly when you have a flu infection and watch for signs of it becoming a swine flu. In the meantime, try to observe and be more particular with your personal hygiene and wash your hands more frequently.

Also, in case you are considering taking the common flu shots now, then please be advised that you should not as it is believed that it will increase your chance of catching the swine flu.

Here in the Philippines, I'm not really worried about it. I don't know why people had to make it sensational when there are available medications for it. Plus, they already developed a vaccine to fight Swine Flu. We are lucky that the type of virus that hit our country isn't as strong as the ones from Mexico so Filipinos who got affected didn't get sick as much as everyone had expected.
