When I was young, many of my friends migrated to other countries giving the reason of studying.

There are many reasons for one to migrate. Whether it is for the good or bad, we should never forget our homeland. Have you friends or family who have migrated? Why do you think they did that?

My aunt has migrated from Holland to the US because her husbands family lived there and they had a better shot at finding a job and buying a home. My other aunt has migrated to Canada, I think for similar reasons. I also have an uncle in Germany, not sure why he moved there. Family related I think.

A lot of people migrate because of better chances of employment, because there is a war in their country, to study or to live closed to their relatives.
Nowadays there are more and more students who do study abroad but only for a limited time, and that don't migrate to the country. For example, they do an internship for a year and then move back to their own country.

Due to economic situation of there country and to seek better employment. Here in our country many want to migrate because they want to have better life there and to help there family here. They are many reasons why others want to migrate but for me I don't have to leave my country I'm happy to live here.

Hi Creation,

According to my knowledge most of the peoples in the world would be
migrating to other country due to the employment and good pay, otherwise
no need to go for the migration. Most of the Asian countries are in the
list which does not provide the jobs to all citizen due to many more and
billions of reasons. That is the reasons peoples need to defends their
life and need to get the jobs, that would make the migration. So we have
to respects the country where we are getting the jobs and our feeds and also
I would suggest to take more care wherever you are in order to have the good
life.

Have a nice day.

I think some people want new experiences and adventure, hence they do that. Some come back to their mother-land after a few years because they miss the environment and everything..

The basic cause for our migration is the need of money only. To earn we have to learn. If we don't have the necessary educational facility in our home land or in our country or place, we have to move to some other place., Then job..As the jobs are not available in our home town, we have to move where the jobs are available..The root cause is money only. I have just migrated to a place within my own country, 400KM away from my place.

My sister's family migrated to canada for a personal reason. When she had an asthma attack long ago (when she was still in the philippines), she was rushed to the hospital and she was turning really cyanotic already. Then my father scolded her husband saying that he couldnt take care of his wife well enough. Around that time, her husband has been wanting to fly to canada to work there but many times, his application was denied. However, when my sister did file an application, she passed. Her husband, being hurt here, felt it better to move to canada instead to get away from my father. And my sister, due to domestic obedience to her husband agreed. That was such a sad moment for the family. And to think that she was supposed to be the one to supersede my father when he retires in his construction company. Haayy... I guess this is probably one of the rarest reasons from the next ones who would reply.

I am an Indian. Many people from India have migrated to other countries. Earlier I used to think why they are migrating to other countries. Why not work for our own country. But slowly I realized why they are migrating. People went to other countries mainly for good job opportunities. They get good salaries there. It's also benefiting our economy as every year these migrants are transferring billions of dollars to India for their family members. So, in one way it's good for the economy. But it is also negatively affecting the economy as domestic industry is not getting talented labor as they are going abroad because of good pay. So it has both positive and negative impact. But I think we can not stop it as it is era of globalization.

I am a British national who left for Germany in 1994, moved to Holland in 1996, came back to Germany in 2003 - and is where I still live and intend to stay for what is left of the rest of my life. I also want to take out German nationality, which I can do in 2013 if I am still here and I live that long.

My reasons for moving were a complex mixture. Economically things in the North of England had been bad for a very long time. Jobs were not plentiful, jobs that paid reasonable salaries and rewarded you for skill and hard work even less so.

I also disliked a culture which only rewarded gamblers (speculators if you must) and people who can sell, and seemed intent on punishing quiet, shy people who worked hard for seemingly nothing. And the growing debt culture (again part of the speculation mentioned above) ran firmly against my "sound money" beliefs.

Then there was also the fact that I am basically an open-minded person, and needed an environment where my attitudes and views on social issues were respected. The UK may be an improvement upon places like Saudi Arabia in that respect, but Germany and the Netherlands were better still IMHO.

And I needed to live where there was a good public transport system - I don't drive, never had any intention of learning, and need good local train and tram services. Those I have had now for 15 years. I would feel housebound if I ever returned to the UK.

Wow, you sure do have good reasons. I think those who migrate need a right mindset to stay in a different country. Adapting to a different culture, mixing with people of other races, etc, etc can be challenging.

I have tons of relatives and friends who have migrated in the past and they have different reasons for doing so. Some of them, like you said, want to acquire better education somewhere else. Some of them just want to be reunited with their families in another country. However, a lot of them from what I know, want to have better lives and they think they can achieve that by working or living on another country.

myLot reputation of 95/100. creationhub (1988)   ranked 174 out of 32,329 in mylot.com  1 month ago

Yes, I have relatives who migrated too. Interestingly, some of them really yearn to return to my country. There is always the feeling of homesickness, I guess.

There are lot of reasons why people migrated to other countries. Some are for good pay of salaries and they are looking forward for greener pasture. Along with it is the good employment. Because in there homeland, they were paid less and have a lot of task been done. The compensation is not good.

People who find their love of there life in other country. They have to migrate enable to be together. And give up the place you have been for a long time.

In my part, I am planning to migrate soon because I was looking for my better future in other place and to be with the man I love. It is the way to be with him is to stay with him. It is better for me to give up the place were I stay than him. It is also because he have a better job already in an airline company.

If I will be there, I could find a better job that will pay me a very good compensation and benefits too. Not like here in my country, how hard to do your job or lots of task you do, the compensation is low. And you do many position in a company.

Hello Creationhub! I'm in the same situation right now. I, together with my husband & daughter plan to migrate to Canada. We hired a consultant to help us with the process. It's a bit expensive to hire one but we took the risk because we really do not know where to start. All our papers have been completed & are now ready for filing this month** fingers crossed**. Our primary reason for migration is to save up & have a better life. Economically speaking, we feel that living & working in our country is becoming more & more difficult due to financial crisis. Since Canadian government is less strict now to accept immigrants & applications are approved within 6-12 mos, we took our chances. I've been hearing also that Canadian government is very supportive of their people in terms of the benefits they provide. That reason alone, is something which we don't have in my homeland. Yes, our government provides basic benefits. But it's nothing compared to the benefits provided by progressive countries. Migrating to a progressive country is our way of surviving the crisis in our homeland. But honestly, I will consider retiring in my home country by the time I get old. It's still best to be home with loved ones around.

I hope it will be worth all your plans to pay high fees for consultant to process your application. Have a great life in your new country and keep us in the loop. Do connect with me through my blog.

Good for you, wengerts. I am sure things will be different when we go anywhere with a positive mindset. I'd love to have more canadian friends, not necessary they be birthed canadians as long as they are canadian citizens.

wengerts (25)   ranked 9,752 out of 32,329 in mylot.com  1 month ago

I'm this optimistic because I learned about a great news related to our immigration plans.:) You wouldn't believe this, but after I made a comment about your post yesterday and typed keywords to tag, related discussion threads appeared & one of them got me excited. It applies to my case & it's very timely since we are filing our application few days from now. To give you an idea, it has something to do with a special immigration measures for typhoon victims in my homeland as officially announced by the Canadian govt. All qualified new & existing applications will be on their priority list. Hence, processing time will be faster. I'm a typhoon victim myself (but don't worry I've moved on & feeling better now after the trauma) and I have the pertinent documents to support it. I'm glad that I made a comment on your post. If not because of that, I'm still clueless about this good news. You are the key!:) Thank you so much!

Wengerts, this has to be God and not humman. I would not even know why I had post up this discussion. It was a sunday morning and the thought just came into my mind. Now, I know what it means to be used by God. May your coming years in a new homeland brings great success and victory.

Also to add, you have made it my day indeed. To think that this discussion have helped someone in another homeland achieved a positive end results is also an achievement for me. May this be only the beginning of true discussions - the ability to produce effective end results in someone else's life.
