Here in our country, passenger jeepney, tricycle, pedicabs are very much popular. lots of people here can't afford to have a car of their own that is why jeepneys and other public passenger cars are in demand, i know that some of the countries don't have these kind of car because people there can afford to have a car of their own? how about you? do you ride in your own car when going out of your house everyday? like me, i ride, pedicab to go to the highway, and then when we reach the highway , we then ride jeepneys to go to flea market, groceries or school.

i don't have my own car.our family could not to afford to have a car, so we always go to somewhere which is not far away, we would like to by bus, though there always lots of people on bus.but it is very cheape and very convience.if the places is very far away, we would like to choose by train or by plane.fortunately, the traffic of our city is a little.so i do not have more trouble with how to go out of house. good luck and have a nice day.

I ride in my own car to go to the office everyday because of time. it is a necessity and with your own car you can avoid traffick areas and you can control your time to reach your place. Well, you can do it by taxi everyday but i find more expensive and finding a taxi during rush hour will kill you. LOL

hello xannebull,
not all the time. i am using my car only when i am on day shift. this way i can bring the kids in school as well. when i am on afternoon and night shift, i am riding in a jeep in going to work but when going home, the company provided us an extension jeep to bring us house to house. that way, i can save some money.
sometimes, when we go to the grocery i am using our car too. but again that depends what grocery we are going for some groceries has a free parking space for their customer. for in the mall customers need to pay for the parking lot and if we tend to go to this store i found it not practical for it cost 30 pesos.
i can use that in buying other thing instead in paying for the parking lot.
going to market and town, riding a jeep is preferable.

Hi xannebull, I do have my own car out of necessity as this is an isolated area without any regular public transport (there are 2 buses a day). It does give a lot of freedom though and I coulndn't do without it, as it's needed for getting into town an hour away, and for ferrying my child around. Often too the weather rules out walking instead as either too hot or too wet.

Hi xannebull,
For now, I'm taking taxi in the morning going to the office and in the afternoon my husband will pick-up from the office to go home. But this is only temporary while I'm preganant. After delivery I can drive my own car again. I stopped driving at 7 months of my pregnancy as I can't reach the breaks and accelerator anymore. We are residing abroad and here it's difficult to take a public transport so everybody wants to have their own car. Before I am taking a bus but it takes me an hour or so waiting for the next one when the first bus is gone. Otherwise, I'll be taking a taxi but it's too expensive here. A month ago, metro train started but not fully operational yet only on some stations. Good Day!

I was...until a few days ago. My husband's truck has been on it's last leg for the past few months and it finally kicked the bucket, so to speak. I haven't been relying on anyone to get me anywhere as I've been staying at home, but my husband has had to rely on a couple of people for a ride to work a few times and even to the store for us. As we live out in the country we can't just walk there and public transportation doesn't come out this far. We are in the process of getting a vehicle so that my husband and I can get where we need to without having to rely on anyone. It'll be nice to have freedom again, even if I have to share it with my husband. LOL
Happy mylotting!

I do have a car of my own and I am very grateful for it. I work for myself and I have a lot of things I ahve to do each day that require going somewhere besides home. We do not have very much public transportation here, so it would be very difficult to get where I need to go each day if I didn't have my own car.

I ride in my own car when I go out of my house. We don't have jeepneys, pedicabs, etc. in the USA. We do have cabs, buses, etc. in the bigger cities. Here in Jasper, the town where I live, we have something called NATS (Northwest Alabama Transportation System) for people who don't have a way of getting anywhere. Cars are expensive, that's for sure. I wish I could afford a new car, myself, because I've had a lot of car trouble here lately. My car is a 1996 model, which means it's about 13 years old so it's time for a new one. Kathy.

I don't have a car and sad to say I don't even know how to drive. But most of the time I'm dreaming of having it. And promised that one day I'm going to have my own car.

Hi dear!
Yes, I drive my own car, if I am required to go along with my family. If it is me and my wife who has to go somewhere, we use bike for the ride. And sometimes, when I am in no mood to drive we avail the facilities of public transport to reach our respective destinations.

Hello xannebull. I don't have a car of my own at present, but more and more of my colleagues are getting their own cars. It seems that it is popular to have a car of one's own. When I travel, I take a bus or a train. If I go shopping, I will ride my black bike. I like it and it offers me a lot of convenience. It offers me some exercise as I have to paddle it to move on.

Hi xannebull
I live in the states and here we pretty much all have cars. The town I live in and the neighboring towns is all cars. I know when you get into the bigger cities they usually get around by using cabs or walking. I don't think that I could survive without my car to drive. Thanks for sharing your information with this discussion. Have a great day and keep smiling.
