every saint has a past, every sinner has a future!

The poem only illustrates that God came to earth to save us sinners from hell and to give us abundant life and eternal life if we obey His holy words. He was crucified and gave His life for us sinners so that we can approach and know God according to His will.

Love this. Judge not is the best policy for human to human relationships. So many of our transgressions are so far reaching and there is no way to tell the results. Something you think you really screwed up can instead make you a hero, no one including you can foretell the future.

It beautifully tells us that God accepts everyone to His kingdom. He doesn't discriminate and makes harsh judgments, even when man has fallen and proven not worthy of His trust. He treats everyone fairly - sinner or saint. Those who thought they've been good all their life on earth will be surprised when judgment day comes - because committing a sin does not only mean doing bad things(what we have done) but also means not doing good things (what we have failed to do). That's why the person in the poem was surprised to find himself in the company of hardcore sinners - maybe he didn't do any crime but he also failed to do good things the God expected him to do like helping the needy, sharing what he has in abundance, or even forgiving those who have hurt him.

I guess I saw the humor in the poem, I laughed at the end. Only God knows the heart. BUT the Bible also says you will know someone by the fruits they bear and the spirit will give witness.

For example: If someone is an alcoholic who is not trying to get over their addiction, I'd have to say they aren't exactly where they are supposed to be with God, they are not going to find God in the bottle of Beam.

However if that same alcoholic is battling the disease and falls of the wagon once or twice I don't see that as being damnable as long as they are seeking forgiveness from God.

The problem being that the busy body only see's the alcoholic coming from the Bar, they don't know what happened after, or even why there were there in the first place. Then the judgments start, and then the sin within the person doing the judging. There were lot's of lessons from Christ in the Bible about judging people. Remember the speck and the mote?

Luke 15:7, "there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."

Yes that's pretty good! I liked it, and have to say it's very true!

It does not seem like a poem. It is a joke.
Don't try to find meaning in it and fool yourself.
