| | Hi my child was born 3 weeks premature, he had jaudice and was very small so needed to have special care, he was placed on a heated mattress and took small feeds here and there, they actually allowed him home after 2 days but i had to take him back to hospital every 2 days to be checked over, despite all of the problems he had he is now a healthy 5 year old! I know its horrible its still horrible now if my son is not with me but you shouldnt be so depressed, The fact that he is in special care is the best place he could ever be at this moment, I mean if you took him home he wouldnt have the correct medical people looking after him. I know theres no words to sooth you as it feels like your heart is ripped out but you must know yourself he is in the best place and all you need is patience, give him/her the time he/she needs, babys are stronger than they look. Is your baby a girl or a boy??? | | | | | | | Mickie30 (2052)

| | Thanks he is gorgeous and you are right it wouldn't be right to bring him home now he would probably not survive at home. He is a little boy and his name is Aaron he is doing well though and like you say he is in the best possible place. Yes it does feel like my heart has been ripped out though. I was 33 weeks pregnant and he should still be inside me. Thanks for your kind words and understanding. | | | | vikkiz (214)

| | You dont have to thank me, your child is the biggest thing in the world and i would be nothing without my son (jason) I agree with what you say he will pull through, you know little boys they fall down and get back up again!! He will be strong and yes he is in the best possible place for the best quality of life and its horrid he isnt with you right now but soon enough he will be and you will be thankful for the time he was in the special unit. For now get your much needed rest, i was stressed and upset when my son was born and it did me no good, i collapsed through exhaustion, when i should have been resting, like me you need to rest, i gave birth naturally and it took me a couple of weeks to get fully revitilized, My best friend had a c-section and it took her longer, then add on the stress your going through....think about it your body will be in turmoil! I know its very very hard when youve got a million things racing round your head but get a good night sleep you will be much better to your baby when you go to see him fresh faced an awake. They sense these things you know, my son knew i was there because of the jingling of the charm braclet i used to wear. Keep your chin up hun! A strong mother = A stong baby! good luck hun and if you accept my friends request ill certainly be checking up on you goodnite xx | | | | | | | Playtex® Nurser Reduce Colic & Fussing w/Playtex® Nurser w/Drop-Ins® Liners. | | My babies were not prem well one was 38 weeks but a huge 8lb 2oz and did well! My eldest tho she spent time not only on special care but also in intensive care its heartbreaking I totally feel your pain not only are you dealing with the normal hormones etc from giving birth but then you have a poorly baby and one tht cant come home its horrible My eldest was full term and one day and 7lb12 but a very sick little girl when she was born I couldnt hold her feed her change her nappy anything for the first 24 hours and even after that it was limited contact, you do cope it gets easier and keep positive because while I dont know the full circumstances im sure it wont be long and he will be home with you. My eldest is now 5.5 years old full of beans smart and happy and I will wish tonight that soon your little boy is home with you. Congratulations though on his birth I found so many people were so busy saying how sorry they were how worried they were etc they forgot to say congratulations because no matter what he is here and that is something to congratulate xxxxx | | | | | | | | | | Depression Symptoms? | | my baby was born 4 weeks ahead of scheduled day. When she was born she was so tiny and had a complications on her blood. Her white blood is producing much more than the red blood. her trachea is not fully develop that makes her snore. When the doctor said that the baby will be put to an intensive care for a week and will be left in the hospital until the period of therapy will be done. I cried. Just thinking of the fact that we will be separated in a week and I could not see her and touch her every now and then tears up my heart. It feels like the world had ended. I begged the doctor to just let us be together. So we got a special room where she could be assisted properly during the week that she needs to be in the hospital. But we deal with the consequence that we have to pay much higher hospital bill. But it is okay as long as we are together. i really know what you feel now.Just don't worry too much he will be okay. And I hope that he could also come home too sooner. Premature babies are usually smaller that the other babies born on the normal scheduled day. But based on my experience they grow fast. In no time I noticed that my child is already of the same weight as of those kids born not premature. Congratulations with a new baby boy. | | | | | | | | | | depression Are You Depressed?
