Bucks from eBay |
|
Sometimes I write something for my blog and then think "I should submit this to a Paid to Write program instead." Things that start out wanting to be blog posts end up on Triond or Associated Content making me Lunch Money.
This time it was the other way around. Intending to start a discussion here about my first eBay Bucks redemption, after churning out four paragraphs I decided it would go better as a post on my blog. Did you ever do that?
So now I'm back and want to know this:
Have you heard about eBay Bucks? Have you earned some? Have you redeemed them yet? What do you think of them?
Personally, I love getting some money back from my eBay purchases. My first redemption was only 54 cents, but it was automatic and now that I know how easy it was I am really glad I signed up for this incentive and will probably earn a lot more next time. Attached is a photo of what I was buying when I redeeming my first eBay Bucks today.

drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | I did have to laugh at your response, but in the kindest way. I do not believe I ever bought any "junk" on eBay. But I did buy a Brother Innova Computerized sewing machine there once. It cost more than some new automobiles I have purchased, but was still pennies on the dollar compared to retail price. Think of all the eBay Bucks I could have gotten on that one, but alas they had not invented those yet.
By all means let me know if you sign up as a seller as then I can mark you as a favorite and find out what you consider junk, rfl. I just about live on eBay.

GardenGerty (20522) | 3 months ago | I kind of knew that "junk" was a misstatement when I typed it. I am seller, but the time or two I tried selling things got mixed up (hubby deleted e mails, etc.) I actually had negative feedback. I bought a dish for a friend recently, because it was something she had been trying to replace and she refuses to give out info online, or shop online.I think my feedback is now neutral. I have things I have bought inexpensively as speculation, and some stuff left from my mom that has no sentimental value that I need to list and sell. For my friend I just used my PayPal, and was thrilled to be able to get her something.I need to make my 24 hour days stretch more.

drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | Look, a hiccup! I wonder if I marked this as BR would it count for you twice? Probably not. There was a glitch in eBay today too when I went to pay, but instead of paying twice, it paid nothing, so I had to go back and do it again. However, the eBay Bucks were still there and did not get wasted in the glitch. At first I thought, "Oh, no, there probably went my 54 cents" but the system worked.

drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | Not sure about the international members. I have not even read all of the information for US members yet. It would be nicer if the rewards did not expire after 30 days of notification, but probably I will use eBay frequently enough to benefit anyway.

drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | Lol, zed, I get a little wordy over there, but hey, it is MY blog. I've been offline more than on in the last 3 months, so I didn't buy much from eBay recently. That is why I was surprised to get anything back. That clip is just so kewl. I bought that one in the photo at a regular store for full price, but I like it so much I wanted more, and especially some of the metallic rainbow colored ones. I clip it onto the strap on my cell phone so that it doesn't fall out of my pocket when I am out riding my bicycle or whatever, but I want one for my camera too, and for everything else I carry that is expensive and/or breakable.
Thanks for liking my blog. I like yours too. After reading your today's post on Taking "Fight" I went to view some videos on how to use a kubaton. I am glad they are starting to make them in a pretty pink color for women. My pepper spray is pink, too.

drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | Oh, I am glad you bought a pair. Well, lookie, someone who can read directions, and for the rest of you, the S-Biner manufacturers are always telling people NOT to use the clips for rock climbing. Ad nauseum. I need it to keep my cell phone from getting broken when I drop it. Dumbphone (that is what I call my smart phone) is not the sleekest gadget in the world (although it may be the smartest!) so when I try to whip it out of my pocket it usually teaches me just why I could never be successful as a juggler.
That is the #2 clip which snaps on and off my belt loop easily and the lanyard keeps my phone from bumping its pretty little head.
Ahh, be sure to sign up for the eBay bucks before you buy any more stuff. It is free, but you have to sign up one-time to qualify for the money back.

6. minx267 (1583) | 3 months ago | I just got an email from them (eBay) about this today- I have yet to sign up. I think I will go and do that.. I use BigCrumbs already to get money back from my eBay purchases I wonder,- no HOPE that I can use them in conjunction with one another. I guess I have some reading to do... Thanks for the input. How long ago did you join the program? they say it's new in the email... just curious.

|
drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | Yes, it is new and I forgot the exact date I joined but it was recently. I was using KickItBack before, but EBay Bucks are much easier. I think you are right that we cannot use both at the same time. There does not seem to be anything to lose in signing up for the eBay Bucks. I think you will like them:-)

|
minx267 (1583) | 3 months ago | yea, I am going to check in to that. 2% back is good- better than I get from BigCrumbs.. but it would be nice to get both..:)

7. Carrie38 (248) | 3 months ago | Hi,
Okay, I am going to sound clueless here but I know how to buy on Ebay but how do you go about selling?
| |
| |
|
|
drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | Hi, Carrie. When you log on at eBay there is a menu at the top right with 5 choices: Buy, Sell, My eBay, Community, and Help.
Just click on the 2nd choice ("Sell") and links will come up with information about how to sell on eBay. You can also click on the "Help" choice and on the page that brings up there are three columns, the last being a whole list of links about "Selling and Seller Fees." Additionally, if you see an item for sale that is similar to something you want to sell, there is a way to copy their listing and just make a few changes so that you can use it to sell your own stuff.
It isn't rocket science, but for those who are intimidated by the selling process there are people who will do listings for you for a set price and/or a share of your profits. It is a good idea to build up some nice feedback as a buyer before trying to sell an item, because some people will only buy from experienced eBayers. After you sell something on eBay maybe you will start a discussion here and let us know how it went:-)

Carrie38 (248) | 3 months ago | Thank you so much for taking all that time to fill me in. That is so kind of you! I am sure I will do just fine after I've tried it once...I'm just chicken to try!...lol

drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | It can be an intimidating process, but you will be very glad once you have made the effort to learn a useful new tool. Anything to make people's lives better!

8. VANILLAREY (1177) | 3 months ago | I have not heard of eBay Bucks. Fact is I rarely visit eBay. I do not shop much online. That's the reason for not visiting eBay.
| |
| |
|
|
drannhh (7573) | 3 months ago | That would be a very good reason for not visiting eBay, although I do sometimes go there just to read the product descriptions of things that are sold locally. Often the eBay sellers know more about the products than the sales clerks in a store. Thank you for reading my discussion:-)
