Prediction of Obama Afghanistan Policy |
|
Based on the last 10 months with Obama as Commander in Chief, I am making a prediction on what his new policy for Afghanistan is going to be.
Basically, even though he was a strong opponent of Prs. Bush's policies in Afghanistan, Obama is going to continue the same policies. His offense will continue to rely heavily on special operations units conducting covert ops, while his defense strategy will be the job of conventional troops.
After swearing that the Iraq "surge" strategy wouldn't work, and insisting it didn't work, he will deploy more troops and run a "surge" of his own.
What I doubt he will do anytime soon will define "victory" or set anything resembling a "time table".
In other words, he'll pretty much do everything he trashed Bush over.

1. matersfish (819) | 2 months ago | What's this Rahm garbage about Bush's policies having nothing to do this this, and Afghanistan being "their" tactics?
Okay, so maybe some people--myself included, to an extent--don't want to credit ANYONE for a war. But to just discredit someone (in the same breath as discrediting Fox and subsequently its viewers) for purely partisan reasons who's OUT OF OFFICE is just silly.
Of course he'll do everything that he was bashing Bush about.
This isn't an Obama bash, although MSNBC would devote a week's worth of coverage to me for saying this if I were famous, but Obama's lack of experience shows.
Okay, so Bush wasn't B.A. from the A-Team, either, but it's about listening to people who know what they're talking about on the ground there! I think it separates the community organizers from the Presidential-material politicians when you're waiting on polling and support and distracting all while avoiding a decision that's costing many Afghan and American lives!
President Obama, do what needs to be done abroad for the sake of lives saved! If you want to be a run-of-the-mill politician, do that here on your all-liberal news shows and bash Fox and your opposition some more.

ParaTed2k (4586) | 2 months ago | Spalladino, aparently you pick and choose your "facts". Yes, I said all that about Annie, and I stand by it.
You are wrong though. I have supported Obama at times. The little bigot Annie wouldn't support Palin or her family on anything.
Now, if you'd like to actually make a valid point, I'm all eyes.
Or are you too busy looking like an idiot?

ParaTed2k (4586) | 2 months ago | No, everyone has the right to their opinion of Palin and her family. I'm just pointing out that people like Annie (and maybe yourself) don't give a flying fig about the truth. As long as the lie paints Sarah Palin in a bad light, she will echo it forever.

flowerchilde (6827) | 2 months ago | Why is it always so kool to bash conservatives - what the media did to Palin was disgusting, bad enough all the hounding against Pres Bush, but disagree with a liberal cause and your bigoted! Against terminating the pre-born, why surely you hate women and are against women's rights (which is exactly why everyone foamed at the mouth against Sarah Palin). Disagree with Obama, you're racist! Shouldn't adopt those tactics. Calling names, on either side, just shows others you don't really have an argument of merit.

spalladino (8992) | 2 months ago | Actually, flowerchilde, I'm not a liberal...I'm a moderate...but the assumptions fly when it comes to Palin. I have nothing against Palin's pro life views nor am I against women's rights since I am a woman. I do find abstinence only education to be seriously lacking in the area of common sense and human nature though.

ParaTed2k (4586) | 2 months ago | If they would stick to Palin's politics, that would be fine. However, they don't. They attack her, her husband, her kids, her grandchild. They are worse than packwolves, they are raping murrauders.

spalladino (8992) | 2 months ago | So, you're suggesting that every discussion in this topic should stick to just the politics of the person or group being discussed and anything else is unacceptable? That would effectively wipe out over half the discussions regularly submitted. Are you willing to also jump on any member who starts a discussion about...oh I dunno...FEMA camps, birth certificates, former associates, flags and other memororbilia, silencing the media and any statement of opinion that Obama is not our president when he obviously is? Just askin...
