University students, are school uniforms and dress codes really necessary?

In my imaginary,you are the girl who are hate being tight by any force.

Because we do not want produce graduates or colleague who are totally accept without thinking to differentiate.
These kind of student actually can be good worker but not good in leaderships.
I would like to be yours.

From where I stand, it is really unnecessry for university students to wear a school uniform.

In middle school or high school, for various reasons, it is common that the students are required to wear a school uniform and most stuednts will follow the regulations without any complaints. But in university, it really restricts the freedom of the students if all students are required to wear the uniform, which is useless and unnecessary absolutely.

In Malaysia uniform are compulsory until high school ( here we called secondary shcool ).But in college or university students are free to wear anything.From positive side there is no different from rich student and poor student.Thats mean equality in wearing aspects.I knew that you want dress like others country.Well. happy weekends.

Yeah, they are necessary for proper identification, though their are schools too would allow their students to study with the exemption of wearing uniforms. In my schools uniform are necessary to identify who is the students, faculty members or even the plain visitors due to protection and measurement policies of the schools. As when all the people who enter have no uniform it becomes hard to identify who is the student as in case their is a bad events thus it is very hard for the authorities to identify the perpetrator as criminals could easily mix up with the crowds of the school. I think it also look good to have uniforms as many could identify a student from non-students.

yeah, as a colleges we don't need to wear a school uniform,it's my luck! just last year in order to meet the arrival of the torch we have been united apparel....

I have also observed that too when i was in college, we were required to wear strict complete uniform and we only have civilian days every wednesday. Besides wearing what we want on civilian day there are some do's and don's in the attire on civilian day like slippers not allowed, shorts, backless, spaghetti straps, shoes without heels, and especially no sleeveless allowed. I think the point of the schools is that they only want to protect their image since what impression people would be getting from the student would also be the same impression that they would be having for the school. I think it would really be fine to let students express themselves on what they wear but i think there should only be some limitation especially to the exposure from what they are wearing. I would understand why schools would not allow students to wear backless but i dont get the point why step-ins without heels are not allowed.

I totally understand how you feel, I am from Cavite, and I go to La Salle - Dasmarinas, it is the only La Salle school that has a uniform, I think. And it is so hot, I hope it is washday everyday, so I always feel refreshed hahaa

At my elementry, middle school, high school and college there were no uniform guidelines. Kids just wore what they wanted.

And it didn't hurt us any. Sure there were some who overdressed, some who went crazy and dyed their hair blue, but they got over it. Kids need to experiment with style to discover their own personal style and individual tastes.

i think restrictions on type of clothing is good to have but you if you have you need to enforce especially on sports teams. i know when i was in school, we had to make sure that the skirts were a certain length and the shorts and the tanks had to cover your shoulders. But the cheerleaders could wear theere little skimpy outfits during the school day and get by with it. i think there needs to be a no tolerance policy on every body not just ones that may make a mistake one time. I had a spanish teacher that got tired of the principle griping about dress code and he would stand us side by side for clothing expection and if you were so close but still off from measurement he would send you to see the principle. i was thinking that it would be a good thing to allow uniformity without uniforms. Maybe cut out the gothic or long trench coat look. I'm not saying ti's wrong. I'm just saying that the clothes that are associated with it may teach different lesson than thta of which they are intended. Children tend to take things to far and columbine is the reason a lot of schools got so stricked on there uniformity of clothing even if they didn't have uniforms were you still restricted. What sucks about is that you don't get a lot of the uniformity when it comes to clothes that are there for you to buy for your children. When you go school shopping the weather holds a large part as to what you tend to buy and sometimes the retailers do not look at them being able to legally wear at school even though they say it is school clothing. This is shocking! College undergraduates wearing school uniforms is the pits! What is happening there? Has the Central Government or the provincial governments lost their brains? How would they like to wear school uniforms and go to work? This means that society has become more restrictive because of the political buffoons in power. Has Gloria turned cuckold?
