What is your favorite filipino food? |
|
Mine would be Pork and Chicken Adobo!!! I love how it is both sour and salty. I love eating mine with piping-hot rice. I especially love my yaya's version of Garlicky Adobo.
For breakfast, my favorite is Tocino. I love eating it with tomatoes and fish sauce. So, so, so yummY!
Street food is another favorite mine. Fish balls are the best. I don't know why but I seem to love the ones sold on the street than those cooked at home. Haha! I also love Barbeque dipped both in the sweet and sour sauce. Pork Intestines are quite good as well! I prefer it to Chicken Intestines.
What's your favorite Filipino food?

| 3. jaja22 (38) | 1 month ago | That's my favorite too. I really love chicken adobo. I love tinapa too. I missed all Filipino foods. I just cook chicken ado, sinigang, or monggo when I missed Filipino foods. Luckily, there is a store where I can buy the recipe near in my house here in Korea. I missed the grilled tahong with butter. Hmmm. yummy. I can say that I love all Filipino foods.

kareendj (125) | 1 month ago | Hi jaja22! Thanks for the response:)) So you are based in Korea? That's such a good thing that there's a store nearby that sells Filipino recipes. I'm sure you get homesick sometimes and eating Filipino food would definitely make you feel closer to the Philippines! Have a great day!:))

4. charmz1005 (373) | 1 month ago | Well, you've listed a lot of good Filipino food there. I think I'm hungry. Lol. I'll add some, Sweetened adobo is also good, the famous Sisig of Pampanga, and Crispy Pata!

kareendj (125) | 1 month ago | Hi there charmz1005!:)) That's a good list you got there. Sisig of Pampanga is actually quite different from what we eat here in Manila right?:)) I've tried Aling Lucings (who apparently was the one who invented it) and it was quite hmmm... mushy? Well, I don't know how to describe it but it's not crispy like those I have eaten here in Manila. Oh no, Crispy Pata. So goood with soy sauce, vinegar and onions.

ckyera (2368) | 1 month ago | yes sisig is also great & i also like it specially if its a little spicy!

charmz1005 (373) | 1 month ago | This discussion makes me hungry. Yup, and Aling Lucing is now on heaven. Thanks to her we had a very known and delicious food. Many are trying to experiment things and try different styles. The Sisig here is not crispy but I've eaten some of them here, some used "tokwa" to be another ingredient but still I liked the original.:D

kareendj (125) | 1 month ago | You're from Pangasinan then?:)) My parents hail from San Miguel, Bulacan which used to be part of Pampanga and our food there is somewhat like that of those in Pampanga. Yeah, I've heard about those tofu sisigs. Does it taste the same though? Also, I didnt know that she has died already? Does the sisig still taste the same? The Aling Lucing's I've tried was in Makati and I'm not really sure if it's the same in Pampanga.

kareendj (125) | 1 month ago | Kare-Kare with Bagoong, OMG. I forgot about that, one of my favorites as well. Dried fish paired with Champorado's yummy as well. I also don't buy Isaw just about anywhere else. I buy it from my trusted vendors. Haha!:)) Kwek-kwek though I am not fond of ever since I knew that each quail egg is equivalent to one regular chicken egg.

7. mymelodake (901) | 1 month ago | Oooh I looove BOPIS (I think it's made out of pig's lungs... though I'm not sure.), I love the one served by Kamay Kainan! It's my ultimate fave. Also barbecued gizzard (baticolon) i love it! I also love isaw (chicken interstine), but only when there's no filling, sort of just the skin. Of course, lechon is also on the list, and chicken inasal, though it has to be the real thing, not those counterfeit Mang Inasal ones or whatever LOL!

kareendj (125) | 1 month ago | Hi mymelodake! thanks for the response. I haven't tried BOPIS though. How does it taste like?:))
| |
|
|
mymelodake (901) | 1 month ago | Hmmm, I honestly cannot describe it accurately, but it's spicy for one thing. I think much of the flavor comes from the spices though and not the meat itself...

kareendj (125) | 1 month ago | Thanks mymelodake. Maybe, if I do one day have the courage to try pig's lungs, I'll try bopis. Haha:)) Have a great day!
