Bingo on church grounds....

Its quite common here, they play bingo anywhere
I reckon if a game of bingo raises some money for them then its an ok thing for them to do
So I dont think its strange at all. None of my business either, but full power to their elbow and I hope the congregation enjoy the bingo

fun. fun is not evil,fun is good for us.Why on earth would you
think it was strange? Do you even know what it is? If you do
then how could you possibly put an evil connotation of it?
It is a game of chance,but it is not gambling. we just have
fun and raise money for our churches.

Bingo is very common here in my country... school have them for fundraising... and the Church in most areas have this on a yearly basis... i don't see anything wrong with this... but i guess some people view bingo as a form of gambling...

when religion mixes with secular .. so sad ... there's no other ways?

The Catholic church has been doing this for years. I honestly don't believe "God" wanted this to be conducted on the grounds of a church. I think it goes against everything "God" wanted or believed in. The Catholic Church is all about money which is quite disturbing to me. That is why the Catholic church is so rich.

Hello, Manong. It's an astute marketing ploy, because bingo is very popular all over the world. A bingo session means that people other than the regular congregation will come along to play, so the church will receive funds from the wider community. And who knows, some of these bingo players may like the atmosphere of the place so much they may stop by for a service. As far as I can see, it's a win-win situation.

It is sad to see many congregations being left by the Lord and left to provide for themselves. Expect not the Lord to come and cleanse their house as it is no longer the Lord's house of prayer.

Money, fun, and sinlessness cannot be the only factors of deciding what can be done in the sanctuary. Worshippers who offered to build the sanctuary would never expect the venue to be used for entertainment concerts, political campaigns, exhibitions, product promotionals, movie premiers, night markets, discos, raffle draws, or even any social activity just because it is fun, generates money, and sinless like what is done in the malls.
