With the holidays just around the corner I am sure the prudent among us have started to make preparations for the holidays. For some the preparations may include early buying early so has to catch the gifts before the inevitable price increases. For others this may include buying tickets or booking hotels for a trip to an exotic location.
So what type of preparations (if any) are you making or is the recession keeping you form making any early plans?

Our youngest daughter and her family are coming in town for Thanksgiving. What I did in advance of this trip was to nag her to book flights early. She did, because she was tired of my nagging, and was able to get the best prices and good flights here and back to her house. For Christmas we give our kids and grandkids gift cards. They can buy what they want when they want to shop and get the right sizes. Works well for us and they are happy. We also have two kids with birthdays in December.

what is recession?
Most of us must be starting to ask this question, isn't ti?
I am over from those bad days and trying to recaptulate myself so that I can enjoy my holidays at its best!
Although I don't have much money to do it at its best but still, I would enjoy it because bad days are over!

I can not afford to go on holiday for a few years as i have lots of bills to pay as well as keeping a roof over my head and my 6 childrens head. The recession is playing a good part in letting us struggle and we have made a few cut backs.I think that if i was to work until i dropped i would never be able to afford to go on holiday either,i keep telling myself one day we will have a holiday as well as never worry like this about money again.

We can see the destruction brought about by the succeeding typhoon that hit our country and it really have sort of affected my mood. I can't even feel that Christmas season is just around the corner. I can't even feel yet the urge to decorate the house with Christmas motif. I feel so sorry for the people who have been rendered homeless by the terrible flood that swept away their homes and even some lives. So although I was not a victim of the recent calamities and neither by the recession because I and my husband have stable jobs, I can't make preparation yet for the holidays. I really feel so lazy when it comes to spending for non-essential things at this point in time. I would rather donate my extra money to the victims of flood. I think we should rather help than spend lavishly for ourselves this holiday season. God will be more pleased that way.
