Would you Rather Watch TV with the Lights ON or OFF?

I would rather watch tv with the lights off.I have heard that watching anything with the lights off can cause strain to the eyes,however i still have the lights off when i am watching the tv.

i watch tv with the lights on because if i don't i have to squint my eyes...
what you said about the vision thing is true. the effect of watching tv in the dark is eventually felt after some time.

but still, there are times when i turn off the lights and watch tv. those would be the times i feel bored.

This is really crazy to watch TV with lights off. I just can not think of doing so. This not only effects our eyes but does the brain cells too. Certain rays that are emanated from the TV screen is harmful for body too.

Please ask them not to do so who you know they are in the habit.

I prefer to keep lights on!I don't know why,maybe habit change into character!I ever and never took care about pupils,it just a habit!

I was always told that it was better to have at least a small light on in another part of the room while the television is on. Your explanation seems okay to me. Even having the television on produces too much light for people who want to sleep.

I only watch TV with lights off during the wee hours of the night where everyones sleep and don't want to wake them up. Aside from turning the lights-off, I also plugged my headphone to it, especially if I'm in our bedroom and I don't want to bother my wife. Its a good way of showing your love to your loved ones by showing them compassion and respect. Actually it doesn't bother me if the lights is on or off. Your insights are very good and I learn one thing from it.

When we are watching television in the evenings we have the lights off. i like it better watching in the dark.

I will watch the TV with lights on. Doctors say that we should not watch the TV in the dark. at least one minimum voltage bulb should be kept at the back of the TV to protect our eyes.

I rather watch TV when the light is on. Because base on science also that the radiation will spread fast when it is dark since dark color absorbs the radiation. The same explanation of heat, you should not wear dark colored T-shirts when it is summer time, instead wear light colored one so the heat will just reflect.
I hope most people are not aware of it. That having much radiation to you could cause most serious ailment.
I suggest that if they like watching TV when it is dark, rather they should put a glass of water near the TV so this one will be the one to absorb first the radiation, not you.
