What makes the Twilight Saga books so appealing to you?

Go on, bash it with all your heart but my question is for Twilight fans only and it will be better if everyone remained civilized and stopped all this hatred.
I like Twilight because it a unique book. It's actually the first romance book I read and I was hooked. The writing is so addicitive - almost like a drug and of course the characters are so realistic.
There are probably a hundred reasons why I love the saga.

I haven't read the books but I'm considering it. Not really because I am interested in the stories....Although I liked the movie, it didn't really strike me as a story I would enjoy reading. But I am interested in how she wrote the character of Jasper because I adore the actor who played him in the movie (the only reason I watched the movie in the first place) and was really intrigued by the movie character. I've often discovered that some of the most obvious differences between a book and its film adaptation are in the secondary characters.

I don't really care for the whole Twilight Saga very much, but I've read all of the books and seen the movie. The Twilight movie was nowhere near as good as the book was.
The best part of the books, for me, was the secondary characters. I really liked Alice. It's too bad that she wasn't in the movie very much. A friend of mine wants to drag me to see the New Moon movie, so I'm really hoping they spent a bit more time with some of the secondary characters than they did in the first.

Like I said in the comment I left above, I'm not really a fan of the Twilight Saga. There's no denying their appeal, though. I think a lot of it has to do with the way that it's written. The reader can't help being pulled into the story because Bella is kind of a shallow character--without realizing it, the reader fills in the blanks and puts a bit of herself into the character. That's why it's so easy for so many people to identify with her.

Although I like many parts of these books I am not a die hard fan. I do not like the main characters to start with. I find them overly needy and Bella sets a bad example with her not able to live with out him attitude. I do love Jacob and Alice though and minus the overly addicted to each other parts I like the story line as well.

I personally don't think the characters are realistic at all, with the exception of maybe Mike, Jacob, and Charlie.
However, I did enjoy the series. You're right, it is very addicting! I think it's just because it's so...different. Vampires that are vegetarian. Who would've thought it?
