1/2 asleep dreams

Okay...so on multiple occassions I have been 1/2 awake and had dreams. But can they really be called dreams? 'Images' seems more appropriate.
I was in a state where I was still aware of being awake, but I was seeing things like a dream.
I don't remember all of them...but there is one time where I remember what I saw:
***There was a pretty girl in a field of waist high grass/wheat. She was wearing a simple white dress and just standing there, in the middle of the field, staring at me. I didn't see myself, it was like from my point of view. I'm pretty sure it was breezy.
And from that image it skipped to this guy (I just saw him from shoulders up) wearing a black knitted beenie and a black shirt. He was talking on a radio (like what the military uses). I also remember he had light stubble--how's that for vivid? The 'picture' was close on him, but what little of the background I could see I knew he was in a snowy place, and even though I only saw him from the shoulders up I know he was kneeling.***
In neither of these did it seem like I was actually there, it was more like I was watching in a movie!
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Where you were still somewhat awake and saw something? Can these images be classified as dreams?

I don't personally know how to classify these experiences, but it happens to me a lot... I dream a lot, too, of the standard variety, but I often have these pseudo-dreams where you are, or are on the verge of waking up, and/or you know (KNOW) that you are dreaming. All the time.

How do you spell the word "misnemor"?-- you know the word that means something is wrongly named... I think that "conscious" and subconcious" are a bit misleading, becuase it suggests a distinct separation between the two, whereas I think it's more like a continuum... Make sense?

It depends on what you classify as dreams! A dream is just a way of releasing the mind from the confines of consciousness, which allows you to open doors into other areas you normally can't go. Sometimes, this bounces back into the areas of your own mind - thoughts, worries, and images you've stored during your waking hours - which is what most dream interpretations rely on.
But I'm convinced there is a state of mind where we actually travel to other realms, parallel dimensions etc. Whether this is the "next life", a parallel world, or another place (in space or time) of our world, I don't know. In my experience, these people have always looked a bit puzzled - as if they've seen a ghost! That tells me I've "been" somewhere and been seen there, by real people.
In my old house I had some genuine haunting experiences, and whenever they happened I was always in a very relaxed frame of mind, kind of detached from the world around me - very similar to the state of mind you're in when you have a "waking dream" (there's another word for these - can't remember what it is though!)
Short answer - your waking dreams are a form of astral projection, probably to another dimension. Well, that's what I think mine are, and yours sound the same.
Night night!

Well, neither of these people ever seemed to see me...the girl just stared but she didn't really have an kind of expression...and the guy just kept talking on the radio, and if I remember correctly he was looking towards the ground the whole time. But I didn't recognize either of these people--and although I remember details about them I don't think I would recognize them if I saw them again.
I just find it weird that the things I saw were sooo random lol. I defeniatly never thought about either person and their surroundings before.

Don't you think it's odd how these people - who are complete strangers - appear in such clear detail? As far as I can remember, the characters in my REM dreams are a kind of mash of family, people I know, TV stars etc. But when I have waking dreams, they are like real people, only strangers.
There's a definite difference, don't you think? I know mediums "tune in" to faces they see, then draw them. I wonder if this is similar?

They defeniatly aren't people I know or recognize from anywhere.
I remember them pretty clearly but I'm not sure I could draw them. I might be able to draw some very vague pictures of them--but I couldn't be sure I would get them right.

I believe this maybe classified as a dream. Like you said , you feel you were watching movie. How can you know you are half awake and half dreaming. Are you sleeping during that time, because if you are sleeping and that images shown on you like you just saw it without you being there, it is considered as dreams. It happened to me but I still consider as a dream.

Well, I know I'm half awake because I'm having clear thoughts. I'm thinking about being awake--and I'm conscious of the fact that I'm seeing these people.
But you're right that maybe it could still be considered a dream--just a different type.
