I received this in an email this morning and I think we should all read it regardless of which party you favor. Any comments?
Harding college put this out in 1948.
This is one of the best I have ever seen and it was produced in 1948 . This should be viewed by every AMERICAN.... WHETHER DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN.
This is timeless and is just as true today as it was in 1948! Maybe?
When small men begin to cast big shadows, it means that the sun is about to set." -- Lin Yutang
I'll keep my freedom, my religion, my guns, and my money.....
You can keep THE CHANGE.
The government cannot give to anyone anything that it does not first take from someone else."
"America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our people." ~ George W. Bush

"When the government fears the people, there is liberty.
When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."

temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Good words for a generation that needs to get some perspective on the meaning of freedom and the value of liberty.
We cannot look to government to solve all our problems, for in so doing, government will require the surrender of our ability to self-govern in every area we look to them for assistance.
There will always be those to whom we owe a humanitarian provision for their lack, but those who can provide for themselves must always cherish the right to do so as they choose and to keep the fruits of their labors.
Socialism is not the principle upon which this country was founded and it is not the direction we want our country to go.

Good words, indeed. I think more Americans are starting to realize, and well we should, that the words of our founding fathers should be heeded. These men founded this country on certain principles that our government has slowly moved away from and we need to get back to it.
If I might add some more words from Thomas Jefferson,
"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."
and
"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories."
And I must add my favorite quote from Ronald Reagan, while not one of our founding fathers, truer words were never spoken: "Government is not the solution to our problem, government IS the problem."

I agree and I think we really need to pay attention to the power the government is seizing from us. We need to stand up and not allow it!

I noticed that too but it did not make the quote any less valid. Was that the only Republican you could find fault with?? Annie did it detract from these words of wisdom in your eyes?
