What do you do to relax? |
|
I am under quite a bit of stress and pressure in the moment. So I try to take as much time as I possibly can for myself. In order to relax I take nice hot baths. Lie down in the dark listening to music. Read a good book. What mindless TV.
What do you do to relax?

| 1. AlkaiserMO (96) | 3 weeks ago | To relax, I will put on some intensely soft classical music on my MP3 player, and sit outside on my couch (college student, which explains the couch outside). Usually, I'll drink some hot tea and just watch the cars go by. It's best to just let your mind wander, and not focus on any one thing. Staring at the beautiful sky, or people watching, really helps me relax, especially teamed with some good old classical music.

taraelocin (195) | 3 weeks ago | Music can be incredibly relaxing. I like your idea with just watching ars go by to take your mind off. But I think I'm too restless to relax that way. My mind wouldn't stand still for long enough.

| 2. TerraBranford09 (10) | 3 weeks ago | I usually do a few thing to relax. Lie down in the dark is one of these, maybe with a relaxing music in the background. Otherwise, a good hot bath/shower can help too. Even just stay in the bed without doing nothing (still in the dark) is relaxing to me.

4. ilyzium (389) | 3 weeks ago | Hi, There are a few things that I do, from taking a hot bath and relaxing listening to music, to having a strenuous workout which surprisingly after you've worked out hard and are exhausted, really works to de stress you. Yoga often works, taking a walk outside in nature is great for that. Not only are you with nature breathing in the air, but you're listening to all the birds chirping, etc. I have this one friend that stressed me out so much that I've told her that I've left the country for a few mos so I do know what stress is.

taraelocin (195) | 3 weeks ago | You have a point with the workout. I dance in a group and you are so focused on your steps that you forget your worries. And afterwards you are just tired!

ilyzium (389) | 3 weeks ago | Yup I find exercise to be about the number one way to relax, at least for me that is.

6. therisingsun (307) | 3 weeks ago | If it comes to relax my mind, I just ly on the bed and close my eyes. I play the slow songs and take a rest thinking nothing about anything. But when it comes to divert my mind from a place, I make myself busy with other stuffs like laptop or talk with my friends or do same kind of activities.

taraelocin (195) | 3 weeks ago | Both strategies probably work - clear your mind or clatter your mind. Thanks for the comment.

7. starscream (315) | 3 weeks ago | I listen to music most of the time when i get stressed. Other than that i can do some random sketching. Or i can make some dishes and eat on my own or serve others. I think these are the ways to relax by engaging in some activity. You don't need to take part in some activity but you need to be in some work or action that distracts you from boredom and unfreshness.

|
|
taraelocin (195) | 3 weeks ago | Distraction is always a good way to forget about things that stress you. I am surprised that so many mylotters mention it - it never came to my mind when I wrote the question.
