nervous... going job hunting tomorrow

Hi sameroad. First of all, I wish you luck on your job hunting. I hope you get your dream job. With regards to your question about what to wear, I think a simple suit would do preferably in neutral tones. If you think the job is not that corporate and formal, just remove the coat jacket of your suit and opt for the long sleeve white shirt with a tie. Sandals are a big no-no in job interviews so wear closed toe shoes. Try to look as professional as you can be.

Good luck! Just tell yourself that you can make it! Have enough couage in yourself and be confident! Inside is much more important than outside. Remember you will lose nothing even though you failed the interview but you will gain a lot. So don'tbe nervous. Wear your smile on your face, whihc is the best clothes.

You must become an actor! Slip into the role of a confident person that has a positive outlook on life and doesn't care which season it is or how much light she gets--life is good! That alone will impress your prospective employers.

Dress conservatively, a nice shirt with matching pants and jacket but with some feminine touches. That will show you are serious and want to succeed. If you think that is too much, dress simply and don't show any inappropriate skin, cover up tattoos, wear conservative jewelry, don't wear facial jewelry.

I hope you succeed! And practice that role, you'll be surprised how much better it makes you feel and what a good impression you'll make.

When my sister and I went applying for retail jobs, we just wore neat pants and sweaters. You need to be neat and comfortable so that you feel good.

I don't really have good social skills, but if you think about it, jobs where you stock shelves don't really require it. They just want you to be on time.

Think about it this way? Do you intend to talk to the manager whilst there and filling out the applications? Then dress a little snazzy, a pair of slacks and a plain button up shirt should do. Comb your hair. Smile and make eye contact, I have trouble with making eye contact but if you smile, and say things like "I'd really love to work here because..." or "i'm flexible" then chances are that is going to stick in the manager's mind. Just ask questions like "are you hiring or accepting applications?" "I'm available to work weekends (of course if your not then don't lie)...

first off...good luck!!! I am a full time mom and only make little earnings online and I am always looking for ways to increase my earnings for now..but to get a job in the real world is not an option for me just yet...but when my kids get a little older I will be back out there too.

When I use to work, I would go in looking nice on the filling out of an application, since you never know if they will interview you on the spot..or they may ask you to set up an interview based on how you are dressed....so dress nice.

about the SAD, good luck, my brother has a friend that has OCD and he had a hard time working for people so he works for himself as a tree trimmer --so far it is working out but we will see how it goes in the long run.

People always would be nervous of the coming interview and public speech. I think this is your normal response to the uncertainty. Do not worry about it. If you really have S.A.D., which I never heard about before, just try to find the chance to interact with people around you. We have to learn how to communicate and cooperate with the people around us, since most of us would find hard to live lonely. If you can find fiends to help, I suggest doing the interview with your friends. It is a good chance to learn about your problem before the real interview. Anyway good luck to your interview.

First of all good luck. I agree with everyone on here that not everyone is going to not be nervous. It's tough. If you don't dress right they won't hire you. Just make sure you have all your answers and information about the work place that you want to be hired on. Dressing is always important I was told from my career services from school that you should always dress in slacks, buttoned up shirt or sweater over a nice clean shirt. No holes or dirt on your outfit. Yes dressing up is really importat and it matters on what you wear. Yes dress semi formal to all job interviews. First impression is the key. After the interview you can wear anything as long as it is presentable or the jobs uniform that is given. Probably late then never but I hope you get the job. Good Luck.

For me, the best weapon to have is to say a prayer. No matter how difficult to find a job, if you pray and ask for it, God will give you and open a door of job vacancy for you. He will also guide you in answering the questions if you will going to have an interview. Aside from that, God is also willing to help you what is the best suit or clothes to wear. Maybe you will be wondering why even the clothes to wear is to be ask from God. Yes, it should be, because God knows the best for us. And if God is with us, who can be against us. If God is with you, you will pass even the most difficult question in an interview and will surpass the social anxiety that you feel. Not to mention, you will never feel the nervous inside. And this is because, God is with you.

You're working on a bar which is full of people all the times and yet you still haven't get rid of the S.A.D syndrome? Actually you can use that nervousness or tension in a positive way. Tension tends to release adrenalin and keeps your mind pumping that extra mile of walking and filing applications for the job. Just look decent as you still not going for an interview.
