hi all!

would you know any tips on raising a gifted child? i have been searching the net to no avail.

you see, my baby who is now almost 8 months old, is showing signs of giftedness, like she is too advanced for her age. we wanted her to be checked by a specialist whom we believe can also give us advice on what to do to hone her talents and skills fruther. however, there is only one developmental pediatrician in our city and the next schedule available is already on mid july of next year!!! by that time, my baby is already 1 year something and already, i believe, so many things have happened and developed in her.

so if you have any idea, please let us know so that we can help our baby develop her skills more.

she has good memory, a good sense of humor, advanced physical development, speech development, she also follows instructions (especially given by me).

thanks all for your suggestions!

Just let her do what you think is good at. I think there is nothing that you can do but observe and encourage her on what she is doing. If she is indeed gifted then it will show up in time. Consulting to a person who can identify this giftedness is actually not a prerequisite just be a good parent to her and never push her into becoming one. A naturally gifted child will never need pushing but she will herself push herself into becoming one.

You are one of the lucky parents in the world, i also have a nephew who also have a gift, that believe it or not he can see something that we can't see, like auro or ghost, but he didn't afraid even a little bit, he was only 4 years old, but i think it's better to let them grow a little bit more, after that you can lead and teach them how to use their 'gift' by parents and with the specialist, or experts, i think it's a best way happy

My nearly seven-year-old daughter has just been formally diagnosed as being gifted so I don't have any true tips, but I can share with you what I've done with both her when she was younger and now with my son who has just turned three (I sometimes think my children are the same child in different bodies because everything about them is the same).

I pay attention to what they are interested in and foster those interests as much as possible. My son, for example loves to draw so it is not uncommon for us to go through an entire pack of paper a day for him to draw. He is already drawing good people and starting on animals now. My daughter liked story telling so before she could write we would write down for her the stories that she was telling.
If she likes music, then you might check and see if there are music classes available for infants.

Just foster their interests and you won't be holding her back.

hi spoiled, every parents want baby to be healthy and gifted. so do i although i have no kid now. but i ever think about how does my son looks like, and how to raise him to be talented.hahahah...first i would cultivate his creation ability, it is the most important in my mind, what's more, he has to be caring about others and know what is right and wrong.:)
