Do you think this years World Series was fixed?  

The series probaly weren't fixed but I agree the mighty dollar did prevailed! I just wish someday soon they get a salary cap in baseball and other teams have a better chance at the Series becides teams like the Yankees!

Hi thea, the abbreviations are NFL - National Football League, MLB - Major League Baseball, NBA - National Basketball Association, all on this side of the pond. I never heard of Panathianikos though and I'm going to look it up to see what it is. I like sports too except I can't get into basketball too much.

Hi lina, never heard of the world famous Panathianaikos, it's a world famous football team in Greece who wear green. That cover's my full football knowledge by the way. I did set up a special interest for it that has 50 signed up members and only two of them have a clue what a football team actually is. I had a long arguement running with AKuler as I thought the PAni team was the same as the Greek team but they aren't, the Greek team wear blue.

thea, is Greek football the same there as it is over here? I googled Panathianikos and Wiki says that the translation is Pan Hellenic Football, whose uniform is blue and based in Chicago. The Panathianikos is based in Athens and they wear green. That's as far as I got so far for the discrepency in color of uniforms. I will delve into this a little more and trot over to that interest to see what's playing.

hi lina, well as I know nothing about football despite making an interest in it, I don't know if football your way is the same as over here, or even indeed how it is over here. I'm sure Akuler who was the spokesperson for anything that involved actual football with the interest said you have soccer over there which he despised as not being football. Everyone round here supports Panaithianaikos the football team who wear green, except for the apparently stupid people who support someone else who wear red.
If you do come across the interest which must be in my interests as I invented it, you will see one example of a most brilliant and interactive discussion in which I suckered a lot of people into the interest against their will.

yes the umps were terrible! the worst I have since in a long time! I hope MLB looks into a change for next year also!

Oops, I don't mean to say that I agree with all the bad calls, I meant to say I agree that there were many bad calls made. That makes more sense!

This years baseballs playoffs where the worse I have ever seen! I mean with the umpires! With instant replay I don't know if should use more then detereme if a tey got a home run called right or not. Something has to get better with the umps or we'll probaly have a real bad call 2010 season! we will see!
