This year I've been making a list as I go of what I've gotten for my children and the things that I'd still like to get for them this year. I've come up with some great gifts that I know that they are going to enjoy when Christmas morning comes. So, I was wondering what you've gotten for your children this year or what you are planning on getting for them and also how old that they are? For my daughter, who will be seven by Christmas I've gotten some Barbie dolls, a Littlest Pet Shop Diary and a Razor Scooter. We are also planning on getting her a Paperoni Design Studio, a Wii game, an MP3 player and some movies. As far as my son who is three years old, we've gotten him some Thomas and Friends Trains, a Razor Scooter and also a T-Ball set. The things that we are planning to still get for him are a radio control car, some Hotwheels, a Learning Laptop and also some movies. Please share with me what you've gotten for your children or what you are planning on getting them this year for Christmas.

As I do the gift shopping all year round, I make a list of all the gifts I need to get - and write down what I actually buy so I don't forget (the gifts get shoved in the closet - hee hee). My daughter is 4-1/2 years old. What I have for her thus far are: A dress with butterflies on it (she loves butterflies) Hat/glove/scarf set with butterflies Butterfly calendar Ornament made of real starfish (another favorite) Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Viewmaster w/ 3 other Disney disk sets Minnie Mouse Lip Balms Leap Frog book/dvd set Honestly, I probably won't be getting her too much else. Money has been very tight lately . . . and I'm sure the rest of our family members will spoil her for Christmas - hee hee. But I do, I'll be sure to get her more art supplies: new markers, pads of paper, play doh - that sort of thing.

I too do my Christmas shopping year round. That is a big part of how I am able to get so much for each one of the kids. I also never buy anything unless it is on sale so I make a budget of 150 dollars per child for their presents and try to stick with that.

I haven't even started my Christmas shopping for next year yet. I feel like I am running very far behind as of this point. LOL. By this time last year I had at least 1/8 of my shopping done.

My son's 6th birthday this year was AWESOME, and I want his Christmas to be the same. For his birthday I threw a party for him at a moonbounce place called JUMP ON IT, and it was awesome. As soon as he got there he was like "I like this place!" I went all out on the party favors. The plastic bags that the party favors came in were HUGE and filled with lots of Madagascar 2 items. He's now into planets and stars and space, so I plan on getting him a telescope, as well as other space things I can find. He's also into Transformers, so I'm getting some Transformers stuff as well. I love Christmas!

You sound a lot like myself. I love to take the things in life that I remember as being magical when I was a child and try to make them magical for my children as well. I hope that your son has an awesome Christmas this year.

I hope you are getting the kids helmets to do with those scooters. I have seen several injuries from them. My son always got his share of socks and underwear. He usually got sporting equipment. He was a such a jock. This year (he is 23 now), he is getting a gift certificate toward the new bike he wants.

Helmets are extremely important to us, so they don't have to have new helmets to go with their scooters because they already have them to go with their bikes. Our oldest just learned to ride her bike without training wheels this year and our youngest got his first bike this year as well and is finally starting to figure it out.

Our Christmas wouldn't be as big for the children this year as it is going to be if I hadn't started collecting Amazon gift cards. I've done the greatest majority of my shopping for them with the gift cards so it hasn't cost me much out of pocket, but I know that they are going to be thrilled. This is also the first Christmas that we are going to be celebrating in our own house, so I don't feel like I have to compete with my brother and sister-in-law about what are children are getting from Santa.

Sounds like your kids are going to have a great christmas this year.I have got several presents for most of my grandchildren,a remote control jeep, high school musical hat, scarf and mitten set, manicure sets with make up brushes for the older girls ,having great fun choosing presents for all six of them.My daughter has dropped hints about a jewellery box .my oldest son is getting aftershave,my youngest son who is fifteen has asked for an Arsenal home {kit football}.i tunes vouchers, jeans, jumpers, films ect.We have all said we will buy the adults something small and spend what money we have on the kids. When my youngest son was small he loved Thomas the Tank he had all the books, train sets, playsets.curtains, clothes, everything was Thomas the tank,It nearly drove us crazy in the end but boy do we miss it.They grow up so fast.

They do grow up far too fast. It seems like just yesterday my son was a baby and couldn't care less what he had to play with and now he is three years old and he is enthralled with all of the boy type of toys. Thomas doesn't drive me nuts, it is actually a welcome change from Barbies and Littlest Pet Shop.

Hi Doran, Wow, that's too many for each kid, they will surely be very happy on Christmas Day. I do have 2 kids too, both boys, 10 and 7 years old. I normally ask them what they want, I buy 2 sets of gift for each child, one supposedly came from me and dad, and one from Santa. They are still very excited receiving "Santa's gift", so I make sure it's one of the gifts they open come Christmas Eve. My younger son wants a Power Ranger toy set, while my older son says anything is OK, because he's happy with his PSP which he got about 2 months ago. It's not going to be a lavish Christmas this year, but I still want it to be an occasion that my kids look forward to every year.

The reason that I go all out for Christmas is because the rest of the year we are living a rather minimalist life style. They both also have had or have birthdays close to the holiday season and for their birthdays they only get one toy each. When I was a child the entire room would be filled with toys and things for us and I thought it was just magical. I want my children to be able to experience the magic in the same way that I did when I was a child.
