Do you clean up and order your whole house when you are going to have friends?

No, the house is mostly okay to receive guests. No big cleanup though, if it warrants that. I believe the spirit here of friendly camaraderie is vital for us to enjoy the meals together. Anyway, it is not always that we have guests over for food.

I do not entertain. I have a very small condo and I have one chair for me to sit in when I read or watch tv and I eat my meals on a stool(just one) and a kitchen counter. But I do keep a clean house but there is alot of clutter. I have dones of business papers I wish I could give away, like legal pads and business folders.

For living alone in the house, usually, I won't clean up the whole house. Even if some friends visit me and have a party in my house, I won't order it on purpose.

I guess I am a clean liver, then I spend much time in working office instead of my house. Although I want my house to keep clean, I don't have a habit of cleaning it per day. You see, all my friends are familiar with me and they don't mind even if my house is in a mess.

It is really a good way to have a party with my best friends in my house. Every time, we will pour out all that we wish to say.

Yes, I do. It is something in me that I feel if the house is not clean they will think of me sloppy person especially if I have guy over. First impressions say a lot about people and there manners etc...I do not want people telling other people that I am rat pack and not clean. Maybe it is because I work two jobs and feel that I am insufficient. I think when you are dating a guy looks at that to see what type house hold he will be living in. Most men like clean houses which relates the females takes care of herself etc...

My mother and my ex-mother-in-law were avid cleaners. It was done like every other day and some weekends it was top to bottom what I mean the upstairs get clean as well as downstairs.

I try to keep my house straight enough all the time that if someone comes by i will not be embarrased at the way my house looks. I use to have alot of company but i really don't anymore. I do enjoy it when i do. Seems like people don't visit like they use to. Have a great sat.

Hi,marguicha,I don't take total burden,but i used to help to my wife in cleaning, changing bed sheets,cleaning floor,arranging interior decorators on table etc..
In general guests will come only on special occasions like festivals,birth days,marriages...but few friends will come on special invitation,that day we have to do all this cleaning process.We usually prepare what food items are special[canal fish curry,Tiger prawns fry..famous in our area] in our area that food preparations only we prepare and those only they expect.The real cleaning process in house is begin after the guests completed the dinner and say bye...

This is indeed an appreciable thing that you keep your house clean just like everyday activity. That makes you feel better too. Natural thing is that we can not have things in proper order everyday as they are brought for use. But if they are installed back from whee had been picked up I guess it becomes much easier to keep the house clean and there is no necessity for doing hard work before the guests knock at the door.

We keep our house quite clean and when people are making visits it is just giving a touch to the things.

Nice to hear this friend you are not pressured to clean and put things in order when friends are coming to your house because yours is always prepared unlike mine having two kids with me.. in need to do some cleaning and making things in order all the time not because i have friends coming but i just want my house to be in order.

Oh i usually throw the dirty every where and when my friends come to see me, i will spend too much time on cleaning my hourse. I know we'd better keep our house tidy, but maybe i'm too lazy, so my room are always mess...
When my friends come to my hourse, after i clean the room,then i will prepare a lot of nice food to eat and also the playthings. Boys like to play the electronic games, girls like reading... No matter how, they will have a good day in my house...

whenever I invite my friends to my house,i try to make house in order.it also depend on the event.if it is a party than i change the curtain,bed sheet,and arrange the table properly.i put fresh flowers in vase and try to arrange for everything which can make my homr trip comfortable for them.
