In the western states of U.S.A. we have more oil than Iraq,Sauie adn the other place that we are bing oil from.
http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911
They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:
- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait
- 22-times as much oil as Iran
- 500-times as much oil as Yemen
- and it's all right here in the Western United States .
Also those places are going to run out of oil they havent found any NEW oil in like I think I read 20 years.

I had heard this before. But we would have quite a fight on our hands to get people to let us have acess to it. Drilling for it would obliderate alot of natural forest lands and such. I hope that when the time comes to drill for this oil that alot of beautiful country isn't ruined.

I heard that we have very good new technology for extracting the oil, pretty much by bending the line under the drill point rather than digging up much earth.. I sometimes think it's another agenda altogether as there are few laws on the (lumber) strip cutting that goes on.. perhaps we have lobbyists from the middle east.. as long as there is lobbying allowed, we can all just forget "of the people, by the people" concerning anything..

The coutry I seen in Utah was so barren it wouldnt even grow a cactus.
and the invirmetalist stand in the way of what we need they are nuts
And it can be worked around NOT to hurt any thing.
My hubby put up with alot of these people when they put up power poles across the country really never was anything hurt and yup they did put roads thru for the the trucks and equipment but they also flollowed roads that was already there.
I have gone back to places and ya can hardly see where this was.
I havde really never seen a place where they can get oil from have a forest on it

and what about the timer cutters stripping every thing out. and never plant a tree back! now that looks awful whe all those trees are stripped out of there and they leave never a clean up or a tree planted back for the future! and they tak every thing.
not like a responsible lumber jack or boss that go pick out what trees to cut and what ones to be left for the futre and also plant trees in barrin spots.

It is good that we have this resource in our own back yard. My hope is that we start to look at more green resources like wind and solar power.

here is another one about shell oil.
I do know that when I lived in a town in Colo.
Callede Rifle that they had put up a operation around Silt Colo.
to squeeze iol out of the rocks.
and that was 46 years ago!
They have a way to get Cold out of mines here in Nevada why then cant they do the oil the same away.
Also I know Canada has lots of oil for I think it was back in the 70s when cars were lining up in gas line to get gas that a feller told me that we really would never run out of oil between the states and canada.

My brother used to be a ship's Captain for Shell Petroleum at one point in his career and he told me something, about 20 years ago, very similar to that information in your topic . My last husband was a crew chief for Rocky Mountain Helicopters and they were always going on trips for seismic testing and he also said the same thing!!!

Hi Lakota12, I do know that America has probably the biggest supply of oil in the whole wide world. I do know that if the oil consumption is going at this rate, we will not be using oil in the next 15 years, as we will save it for up coming events. I do wish we can stop using them now and show the air powered cars that are running in Luxemburg.
