It doesn't however stop me from going to the Chapel at work for a prayer. I believe that religion is a very personal thing. My family openly discusses our beliefs in God and the power of prayer. We are openly Christian and proud of it. I do not believe the God looks down on me because of my inability to go to Church on Sunday.

3. suspenseful (17075) | 4 weeks ago | Actually I think your son will do more good if he sits with you in Church. Often the Sunday School just tells stories that have nothing to do with the Bible, unless it is the Noah's ark. (When I went to Sunday School in the United Church, the favorite story was about a Greek boy called Tullus or something like that, who happened to live in the time of Paul and was a Christian). So your son will learn more by listening to the sermon. Believe it, children understand more then you think. He will learn not only about Jesus's love, but how to walk a Christian walk, and about people who hate God.

suspenseful (17075) | 4 weeks ago | Oh I am assuming that you were unable to attend Church because either you were out of town or you or your son had the flu or something and you did not want anyone else to get the disease.

| 4. nas8228 (28) | 4 weeks ago | There are two very strong reasons for attending a weekly church service.
1. to meet brothers and sisters in Christ that (usually) live in your area that you may relate to and build strong relationships.
2. to learn God's Word.
Thankfully, these two things may be easily accomplished outside of the organized church service.
1. SMALL GROUPS. I'm a big proponent of small groups and fel that they are even more important than Sunday service. Find a good small group within your church that meets during the week. Try to find one with kids your son's age. You will get the opportunity to meet brothers and sisters and grow spiritually with them.
2. Many churches these days have their sermons available online in audio or video form. If you church does, you can keep up with your pastor's sermons. If that is not an optin, you can learn the bible from home (I recommend this regardless of whether you hear a sermon)! You can read God's Word pretty much anywhere thanks to the internet. I enjoy using www.biblegateway.com Having trouble understanding what you're reading? Ask your pastor to recommend a good study book(s) that you may use to enhance your study.
We don't need to attend a corporate service in order to live in Christ. But a good church can be a good hub for Christians, offerring resources to help you grow in your spiritual walk.

| 6. Wendy36 (66) | 4 weeks ago | It is sometimes a difficult transition for children to attend a class where everything is unflamiliar. I have been a sunday school teacher and understand that children can make these kind of transitions in a positive way if it is dished out to them one small part at a time. Ex. Read a Bible story with your son At Home-With his favorite buddy. Provide a coloring book that coordinates with the Bible story so he can listen and do. Try it for 2 days a week for 4 weeks. Then bring him back to sunday school WITH his buddy. Give him a small time goal and then he can come and sit with you. Stretch the amount of time to and hour and so on. Reward him with a new coloring book and let him talk to you about sunday school. This is something that has to be encouraged and taught naturaly not like a job to get done. Keep it positive! Also, your invited to an online fellowship! 24-hrchurch@ning.com God Bless You!
