I talk to myself sometimes ,so I can remember stuff that I need to do ,and sometimes I can see the way some people look at me because they probably think that I'm crazy. I need to stop doing this in public. Ha Ha.

I do it too Mirita! I have been meaning to give it up but I have done it all my life. I have to think out loud and I must come across like a nutcase to those who don't know me. I do avoid doing it in public whenever I can help it but I'm sure I forget sometimes. I chat to myself in the car while driving and I do spot the odd look from the car next to me at the traffic lights! (LOL)

I am a very very thorough person, a compulsive perfectionist, you can say. This makes me lose many of the life's good moments. Even though, I have improved a lot since I realised this, I think more has to be done. I try my best to unload my baggage in office and be sort of free at home and vice versa. But sometimes I feel, this is therapeutic as well. My urge to do stuffs spot on and accomplishing it give me an undefined happness. Still I miss out on many good moments. I am working on it and hopefully will overcome it soon. What about you Bala?

What about me? It is like reading my own confession to a priest in a church Mimpi. I am becoming restless and irritated by trying to be a perfectionist and expecting the same trait from others. It doesn’t seem to work well with the people around. And I don’t see any reason why I should change myself as I know in my heart of hearts that I am doing the right thing. This has become an eternal struggle taxing on my peace of mind too. The hardest thing for me is being a mute spectator to the irregularities happening in front of my eyes.Even I too am at a loss to know how to get things I like done with calm and poise.

Don't tell me! I am exactly like that. As I told you earlier it's really a therapy for me. It's tough with an incongruous world around but I must learn to be poised and calm like you. Be fine and do well.

Hi balasri, I admit that I have a couple of bad habits. You are right! It’s quite difficult to get rid of them totally. I think the most annoying and undesirable one is doing thing in procrastination. Though I have tried hard not to behave in this way anymore, it still sticks to me all the time I think I’m a tenderhearted person lol... so it’s not easy for me to have the heart to abandon such a "good" old friend who has been accompanying me all the way long. Therefore when doing certain monotonous routines, or other minor matters I still detain such bad habit Happy posting!

Procrastination usually results in sorrowful regret. Today's duties put off until tomorrow give us a double burden to bear; the best way is to do them in their proper time.It seems to be the affliction of most of the people.I too am not an exception. I have resolve to finish off some pending work and refreshed me up by starting this discussion.

I sometimes have a habit of biting my nails, especially when i get anxious and that is something i wanna get rid of. I dont know if it is OCD or what, but i like to bite off the side of my nails...i dont know what you call that. Although in the last few days im starting to notice that im not doing it anymore and i knew it will gonna get s0me time before i totally rid of this habit. Slowly but surely plus i knew my case wasnt severe so no need to worry, i can handle it. I just need a nail cutter beside me always, then im good.

May I suggest you with some tips to get rid of the habit if you are interested? Get a camera and take some pictures of your bitten fingernails. Examine your nails, and list their problems. Get a camera and take some pictures of your bitten fingernails. Examine your nails, and list their problems. Pick at least one nail to "protect" at a time. Eat calcium and magnesium rich foods so that your nails will repair and grow well. Not only that, but most of the reason that the human body wants to bite nails is the lack of calcium and magnesium in the body and the body needs that material back. Distract your mouth. Eat carrot sticks to keep you busy. Keep a stick of gum handy for those weak moments.

I have a very wacky habbit of smelling or sniffing whatever I eat before I eat it. It was fine when I was little but now it seems weird and its hard to explain to people why I do it. Now thats because I don't even know exactly why I do it. I definitely have to get rid of it.

Your sense of smell is tied to your sense of taste. You get to begin your enjoyment of the food's flavor without eating it. But it would be wise to try to be as inconspicuous as possible in this behavior. The reason for this is that if you are clearly leaning in to sniff the food prepared by someone else, it would be quite reasonable for observers to assume you find the food distasteful or are essentially checking the food before you put it in your mouth.

I have a very wacky habbit of smelling or sniffing whatever I am eating befor I eat it. I can't sometimes even bite into or swollow my food without smelling it. Its really crazy I try to eat and not bother too much about how it smells but I do it still when no ones seeing. Its awkward when people are around. It isn't that bad, well that what I feel. But I don't know why I am finding it hard to just stop !!!!

Yes my friend, I have a very very bad habit and it's because of my very low self esteem you see I have a bad habit of automatically putting myself down, if I can't do something I get frustrated and then I start blaming myself for being so useless especially if I see someone else doing it. Lately I have been at self defence classes and I cannot for the life of me get the kicking movements, all the guys that started the same time as me have mastered it and I am worried that the dan will get impatient with me and ask me because I am not getting it to leave or feel that it is not for me. I get so frustrated and angry with myself because I just can't do it right. So I put myself down. I always fortune tell with people and I automatically think that no one likes me so I don't even try to be friendly because if I do I know I will be rejected so I avoid people, I have lots of bad habits but they are all concerned with my low self esteem.

Hi Wolfie.Have you ever come across anyone who is a master of everything. You yourself may not be knowing what you are good at which anyone will stand second to you only. Well I always like me very much for what I am without worrying about what others think of me.I know I am good in things that are necessary for me.

Procrastination is the very habit of mine that I want to erase. I have been like this for a long time. It is not a good habit of mine. Sometimes I can be very fast if I take an immediate action, but in most case, I procrastinate in doing what I could have finished in a shorter time. I have been trying to overcome this shortcoming of mine.

Mine would be procrastination. I just have this kind of thinking that Ill enjoy today and dedicate everything to the task at hand tomorrow and the rest of the month, or year, or forever, if that would take forever, or at least until the deadline is up. So with projects and things I tend to put them off for the next day. Im just too aware of the time. I mean, Im fully aware of the deadline of a project and when I see that I still have time, then Ill use that time to enjoy myself. I do plan though, I mean when the deadline is very close I schedule the tasks that needed to be done and allot a specific time and number of hours for that. In that way I will not go crazy cramming over it too much. That kind of thing does work for me, and I havent failed to submit a requirement just because I was putting it off. At the very end of it, I dont know how, but I seem to get things done, just in the nick of time. The quality of work isnt also compromised. I do like to think that I do my best work when Im cramming. Its just the training that I had during high school. We had so little time to enjoy, so enjoy that free hour while we still can, then work on the project the whole week. As long as it still works for me, it should be fine right? But I still might want to decrease the amount of time that I do put off. Well, it would really be just up to me to get rid of that, if I truly really absolutely wanted to.. sigh.

Yes it is frustrating at times to see how our help is easily forgotten and we are used as door mats. And as we don't need anything in return for the help we do to people at least they can be thankful to us.

Aside from chatting to myself as I mentioned to Mirita, I have the bad habit of not eating healthy foods and automatically going for what I like no matter what it is instead of making healthier choices. Oh...I need to exercise more too!
