I like Bukisa more than AC at this moment |
Bukisa is getting better and better, while Associated Content is overflooding with bugs and other nonsense. For one thing, the page view payment in Bukisa increases recently. For another thing, Bukisa adds a tweet button, and I notice that a few of my articles have a few tweets. Since I dont even have twitter account, neither do my friends, those tweets come from interested readers. AC is getting worse in both indexing and page loading. The moment AC gets rid of one bug, another bug surfaces. It's getting very frustrating! For those who write for both sites, what is your experience with both writing sites?

scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | That's too bad. I see many people use traffic exchanges to attract readers, and that directly violates the TOS of Google Adsense. If Bukisa does not terminate the account of writers using traffic exchanges, then Google will terminate its adsense account. I guess they can make a few hundred dollars from Google Adsense every day.

anuramn (175) | 1 month ago | How sad Diamania, Bukisa is really good. I have written articles for AC; however, not satisfied with them. So, I'm now sticking with Bukisa and Triond.
| |
| coghlanwriting (8) | 4 weeks ago | I love Bukisa! I really can't stand Helium, AC, or Triond. I've written a few articles for them, but yuck.... I stopped. I kind of like Suite 101, and demand studios is okay, but I kind of got burnt out on writing articles for them because their editors are so inconsistent.
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 4 weeks ago | Compared to Demand Studios, Bukisa is hardly a writing site for serious money. At least the top earners in Demand Studios can make more than thirty thousand dollars per year, I doubt anyone in Bukisa can even make a hundred dollars per month. bukisa is just for fun and make a bit pocket money.

scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Bukisa is good for writing, not for discussion, same as Associated Content. At least Bukisa accepts content of 250 words, while the minumum word count in AC is 400. Bukisa is good if you have interesting article for submission.
| |
anuramn (175) | 1 month ago | Hi Scheng, You are true. Writing an interesting 250 word article is definitely not tough.
| |
Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | 250 words is nothing! I may have to start using helium titles to make articles for Bukisa! I can usually crank out 200+ to 300 words easily without reasearch. Then sometimes I have to figure out how to extend the article to the minimal 400 words when there is little more to say. I am liking the idea of writing at Bukisa more and more.

3. abhi_bangal (930) | 1 month ago | I agree with you completely. I know that Bukisa is better than Associated Content. I had heard about Associated Content that the site is not that good for Indian writers. As they are paid only the compensation for the article they write and not according to the views that the article might get. I don't know how true that is, but I did not experiment much with that. On the other hand, I had always heard something or the other good about Bukisa. Many said that they are earning good on this site. But honestly speaking there was always some or the other problem for me as far as Bukisa is concerned. Like, publishing my arcticles, I had to do that at least twice but they got published anyhow. I am also not sure as to how to promote my articles. Can you please help me a bit in this.
| |
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Do you have social networking sites, such as Facebook or Twitter account? It's gettting much easier to promote. Then you can promote internally. Many writers use a one-for-one comment exchange. If you add a comment in their articles, they will add a comment in your articles. That is a good way to increase page views. The best is still to use seo techniques in writing, and wait for search engines to send readers.
| |
anuramn (175) | 1 month ago | Hi Abhi,
Do a keyword research before writing articles. Think of phrases you would use if you are searching for the particular article. This way you can write quality articles and it'll be easy for the search engines to track your articles. Take a look at my blog. There is an article about keyword research. All the best!

scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Anura, if you have Google Adsense, the best writing site is Hubpages, you can use Hubpages to backlink to your blog. Just remember to post original content for Hubpages, and post the link to your blog on every single blog post. You can earn through Google Adsense, Amazon and Ebay affiliate.

Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | Scheng send me your hubpages ID so I can add you.

4. rosepedal64 (1375) | 1 month ago | Hi scheng I haven't worked on Bukisa. I have heard of them and wasn't too sure if it would be a site that I could make money on. I am a member of ehow and my earnings are going so slow there. Do you think that maybe I could do much better on Bukisa then I do on ehow? Good discussion and keep up the good work. Have a nice day and keep smiling.
| |
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Rosepedal, how is your page view in ehow? If you have high page views and low earnings, then Bukisa will work better. Ehow is revenue sharing, based on the revenue from Google Adsense. If 1,000 read and never clicks on the advertisement, then you get nothing. Bukisa is based on page views. the promotion part is easy, just add comments to every aricle you can find, and the other writers will read and comment on yours. That is before the search engines start to send readers to your articles.
| |
rosepedal64 (1375) | 1 month ago | I have high views just low earnings. It takes me two months to get my payout. I have an ideal. Why dont you go to my profile and there you will see my ehow link and go check them out and then let me know what you think on the sense of maybe doing Bukisa. That is if you dont care to. Thanks.
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Rose, I dont see any link in your profile page. Anyway the type of article for ehow is different from Bukisa. Ehow is a step by step instruction, Bukisa is article-type format, more similar to Associated Content type of writng. I can't really say how much you can earn from Bukisa, it depends on your networking skills, your seo techniques and the referral earnings. Bukisa has a three levels referrals earning. Even if you dont write a lot, you still can earn from referrals.
| |
anuramn (175) | 1 month ago | Hi Rose,
Ehow accepts only US writers. I too love to write for them, but as I live in India I'm unable to write for them. Let me know if you are aware of any sites similar to ehow that is open to international writers.

5. arcideaco (437) | 1 month ago | One thing about writing sites should not be overly competitive and Bukisa is on the right direction to gain more freelance writer submitting more and more articles to its site. AC is really not really good. It is picky and do not allow earning online articles, so I do not really like AC from the very beginning. I agree with you to a very large extend there on this. Bukisa is less stringent in the type of articles being submitted which allows you to leverage on programs like get paid to link.
Cheers.
| |
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Arcideaco, Bukisa is still rather small as compared to AC. Right now Bukisa is increasing the standard of articles. Bukisa used to be the rubbish dump for badly written articles, now that they start a Editorial team to clean up the site, they dont allow badly written articles anymore. It's an improvement in a way. I like the tweet button more. It's good to see people tweeting my articles.
| |
Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | I never liked AC much either. I definitely prefere helium of the two. How would you say Bukisa compares to helium?

6. rg0205 (1714) | 1 month ago | Bukisa is increasing in popularity. As for Associated Content, that site only seems to serve real benefit to those who are from the US. If you're not from the US, you only get paid per 1000 views which really bites.
Bukisa is a lot better, too, when it comes to views, not just because AC has more bugs in it.
| |
| |
Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | I am from the US and I have yet to be paid for 1000 views! They took three articles for upfront payment, the last offer was $2.09! I prefer helium to AC.
| |
rg0205 (1714) | 1 month ago | I think AC started to lower their upfront pay. Before, it was $3 as I've read from some previous posts.
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Rg, the passive payment computation for both AC and Bukisa is comparable, if your article is long enough. Bukisa jams all the words in one page, even if your article is 2,500 words. AC will split into 6 pages. So when a person reads the article in Bukisa, you gain one page view, when reader reads the same article in AC, you gain 6 page views. The problem is that AC has so many bugs, and they seem to make things worse for search engines to crawl the articles. Bukisa is getting better. The tweet button right on top of the article is a neat idea.
| |
anuramn (175) | 1 month ago | I too agree that AC has lots of bugs in it.
| |
Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | So at Bukisa the tweet feature is automatic and at AC you have to set it up yourself?

7. starscream (502) | 1 month ago | How you get traffic for your bukisa content? Can you help explain me the SEO methods you tried to get traffic to your bukisa articles? I have idea of linking and asking people to visit my articles at bukisa but what are methods that you tried?
| |
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Starscream, do you expect me to explain in a short discussion thread? I have written a few long articles about this, and yet I have not covered a third about this seo and back linking thing. You can go Bukisa and check up my account, user name is scheng1 I have a few articles about seo writing, and one about generating traffic to articles in Bukisa which is workable for blog writing and other articles.

8. Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | I am glad you posted this because I have been wanting to investigate Bukisa and give it a try. I did an article on cheap decorating with flowers and AC rejected it for upfront payment but they called it "buying cheap flowers." The article was not about buying flowers it was about how you can spend very little money and have flower arrangements in every room of the house. I even had pictures!
| |
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Canellita, why not submit to Helium instead? Bukisa has no upfront payment at all. It's better for duplicate content with some rewriting. I think it's time to rewrite your articles and post in Bukisa. That will save effort and you can upload ten articles in a day.
| |
anuramn (175) | 1 month ago | Hi Canellita, Bukisa is really good. You can definitely give a try in Bukisa.
| |
Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | What I like about Bukisa is the $10 minimum to reach payout, unlike the $25 at helium. Does it take a long time to get enough page views in a month to reach payout at Bukisa?
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Canellita, my hub id is Siew Cheng, and Bukisa is scheng1. Hubpages is excellent for backlinking to your articles in Helium or AC. You can add comment as outsider, and copy and paste the url of your profile page or the article, so that you generate a backlink to the articles for search engine spiders to follow. The little tweet button in Bukisa allows the readers to tweet for you. I dont see this function in AC, the "share this article" function is rather useless, since most readers wont use it. the little tweet button in Bukisa is prominent and just require the readers to click on it. That's why I'm so happy to see 6 tweets for one article.
| |
Canellita (3248) | 1 month ago | I am going to take a look through my helium and AC articles and see what I might post at Bukisa. I have one that I had re-written to post on AC but they rejected it for upfront payment. I also have that article I did for helium before I realized the title was closed.

9. cwilson26 (1611) | 1 month ago | I haven't been with Bukisa for very long but I have heard my friends say they like it better too anymore. I have been writing for Associated Content for three years and it is hard for me to break away from them. I only have two articles up on Bukisa right now so I don't see much of a difference yet. Maybe I should concentrate more on Bukisa for a little while.
Do you write for Mahalo or Ehow? You should check them out if you don't.:)
| |
| |
scheng1 (1680) | 1 month ago | Hi Cwilson, Bukisa has no upfront payment. You can probably rewrite some older articles to repost in Bukisa. That will save time for you. Ehow does not pay international writers at all. Helium is better, except that it bans Indian writers. Bukisa has a great referral scheme, so it works even for people who can't write, and want to make money
