What About A Competition Option For Education?

Public school funding is tied to taxes so this wouldn't work. Say, for example, that there is a highly rated school in a rural district that doesn't have a large resident tax base for funding. The school will incur additional expenses from an influx of students with no added funding and eventually the quality of the education they're able to provide will suffer.

What about turning the schools back over to local and state control and eliminating the failed DOEd?

Along with taking our country back, we need to take our schools back from the Feds and the unions.

Make the schools once again answerable to the communities thes y serve or put them out of business.

Either homeschool or find a good private school.

The liberal opposition to alternative schools is the reason that they oppose vouchers, because they cannot indoctrinate our kids into their socialist ideologies otherwise.

Get the government out of the education business... over the last 40 years, our quality of eduction has steadily gotten worse.

That is what happens to everything the government touches... it just goes to sh1t.

Now they want to do the same thing to our healthcare... which currently is among the best in the world.

Competition would be nice. But it is not going to happen. Why? THe teachers unions won't allow it. THey already are trying to fight homeschoolers and virtual schoolers. Even though those kids get higher test scores and get a better education. They don't want anyone to have any choice. Unless you are rich enough for private schools. And I have even heard arguements that private schools should be closed too. That way if ALL kids only went to public schools, more money and community involvement would be poured only into the public schools.

Personally I am all about choice. Parents should have the right to choose how they want their children to be educated. They are their children after all.
