2009 ....A year of changes, moves, and life lessons..................

2009... is a very memorable year for me. In January, I had to face a difficult decision against the truth; in February I won the MLKJ Essay Contest for first place again for the third time in a row. In March my beloved companion, a German Shepherd Collie Mix passed away; in April my grandfather passed away; in May I broke a few of my bones in an accident; in June I went to London for the first time; in July I celebrated my friend's friend's parent's 99th birthday; in August my friend's father died; in September almost everyone in my family lost our jobs; in October I went horseback riding for the second time in my life; and now it's November and life is sad.

SO far 2009 has been a much better year than 2008. My husband has lost over 70 pounds, I have lost almost 50. No one died, last year my stepson got killed (no one arrested for that either) and my father died with in about 6 weeks of each other, my husband had several hospital admissions, one for an anaphylactic reaction he developed to a medication he was one, another for high blood pressure and than he also had surgery.

I got hurt at work - a neck injury and a concussion.

I also have a plan to get a different job - it is a lateral move money wise but I will be safer and will have a plan to go to school to get a better job.

Overall, it has not been a bad year.

2009 hasn't been an exceptional year for me. - well, except to lose some weight

2009 has been a great year for me and I have made alot of progress and evolved as a person. In the past I have been a painfully shy person who found going in public difficult. This year I gained confidence chasing some of my dreams.

* I finally learnt how to ride a bike, something I had always wanted to do but was afraid to try.
* Cycled 20km offroad up a mountain.
* Travelled overseas to a country (New Caledonia) which doesn't speak English and was able to make my self understood in French the national language.
* Quit my old part time job which I had worked at for three years.
* Started screen acting lessons.
* Went to my first acting audition.
* Acted in my first short film
* Helped produce a television commercial.
* 2nd year of college
* Got my fastest ever time in a fun run.
* Started French classes inspired by my trip to New Caldeonia.

I just know next year will be even better... for one Im already planning a trip to Europe for my 21st birthday!:-)

The first part of the year went really well, and lots of good things happened. In the beginning of 2008 I opened my first art exhibition. I sold more photomanipulations and paintings than I had expected and I was very happy. In May my husband and I got married. We had a great party and we enjoyed our honeymoon very much. In July we went to Latvia and Lithuania, and we had a really good time. I am on antidepressants and I had been able to avoid the dark periods for many months, but in October my depression suddenly got a lot worse, and I had many negative thoughts, other problems etc, but now I am starting to feel better again. Aside from October 2008 has been a good year for me.

2009 was a difficult year for me because financially I'm broke but as the year finally comes to an end I gained what I want and that is to have a good income at least it saved me lot from having big debts to my friends so I thank God for that for helping me survive this year and I know it will be another difficult year next year because of the present financial situation in the world today.

Hi, for me, 2009 is not a good year, so to say.The only good thing is that I have started working for Mylot which is very recent.Since I am retired, posting responses in mylot has given me lot of information on various topics.After retirement, it is a good exposure to read various topics and learn and keep myself busy for the whole day.I hope to continue further 2010 also. 2009 has been a tough year for me, relationship wise it's been really emotional and i will be glad to wave goodbye to 2009, i am currently looking for a new home so 2010 is going to be important for me because i want to make it new,a fresh start and a new life for just myself, it's time i started taking care of myself instead of hoping that things will change for me and him, it's not going to change so i am resigned to that now, next year it's all about me....

The year started wonderfully, with lots of beautiful plans for the whole family. It all came crashing down when my husband passed away suddenly in August. What can I say? I'm depressed and find every day ever since a total nightmare. I'm staying strong but life will never ever be the same.

Hi, p.a.L., no need to ask you how you are doing, it seems that you've made it through all these 'rough spots', and what I like about you, is that you are still 'kicking', I'm glad for ya', and believe me, things will always turn out alright, sometimes you have to make some 'rough' decisions!
2009 brought some changes for me also, my music bands are going full speed, and staying busy, working a lot of part-time jobs because I take care of my parents at home, my Mom died on Oct. 3, and I'm just taking care of my Dad now, and in another month, I start back at doing taxes again, but I'm still here on myLot!
