Friends or No Friends for mylot?

I never really thought about it but you may have a very good point. I think I stick to the friends that don't know me that well for my referrals. I too seem to have the opportunity to be more open with my feelings on here than I do any where else. Thanks for the discussion, it has me thinking too. Have a great day and keep smiling.

My husband and I have both tried to refer friends in the past but they don't stay with the site for long, though one has come back and then has left again. Well I think it's better to just have a few friends on here that you know in person if any at all, and friends instead of family. I guess I am a more open person, but I respect you not being so open and wanting to keep things secret.

There were times I wished I could keep things secret but couldn't, and well that's left me aggravated, annoyed or embarrassed!

Actually, you are right. When we don't have close friends outside in the lot, they would not know so much about our inner-thoughts and feelings. Actually, it's more comfortable talking and interacting with online friends that we discover while being on the lot, than friends outside. Because friends outside; the form of interaction is somewhat more direct and a bit different. Unless the person already knows me in and out, I might not recommend a friend to the lot...but if it's just another internet user, I might. I go out with my crowd sometime, and if they know I'm typing personal thoughts stuffs, they might tease me mercilessly.

Well, over the course of the 3+ yrs. that I have been an active member here, I have refered quite a few people here. Some are people I already knew while others were people I met thru online Yahoo groups I am in, etc. Some might have come here via an Advertisement I might have done somewhere else as well. But none of them are active anymore so it is all up to me, and my person who referred me has not been active now in yrs. so I would think he is not able to collect from me. But it is up to you. Just need to remember it is up to the person deciding to be in here if they will find enough to keep them wanting to be here as well.

there are other sites like this one that you could go to if you want to remain anonymous. If I had a friend that felt like you do I don't think I would feel she is a very good friend. I wonder why you don't want friends to know these things about you. Friends are actually the ones we let know things about us.

I've referred a few friends and before they came I was maybe a wee bit more open about certain things. There are certain family members who aren't getting an invite though!

i am trying to introduce mylot to other people, friends and no friends. but i am not that lucky to have more of them that will get active, like i am. fortunately, i got one from the office who is the most active referral of mine, these days. having a lot of active referrals really help in gaining more cash. although i think about my referrer why she became a little cold with mylot, as she seldom visit the site, i know she is still earning from my activities too. so i try to be very active not only for my own earnings, but also to let her know that i never forget, she helped me get into this great site.

You have very valid arguments. I,too, will hesitate to invite people I work with or anyone, in fact, who knows me professionally. Why?? because HERE on myLot, people get to see my 'with my hair down' and maybe even a little 'with my ''proverbial'' pants down' too, in that I DO say how I feel and think and I Do reveal enough in examples to make my point,that one could, if one wished to, make a whole other image of me that could bite me in my butt if I got teased or even treated differently.
I don't mind if it were my neighbours or friends, They all know me so well that nothing I say would surprise them anymore..well.. hmmm.. shock maybe.. they might laugh AT me or even with me.

Sound strange? Well, I AM strange!!

I hope you enjoy spending more time on the Lot and just be careful of what you say if any of your friends do sign up. I am quite open in my discussions, responses and comments. I talk about my family and friends and my own life, if they ever see it then I can stand by what I've said (although I would like a few things to remain unnoticed lol) We are all real people behind these monitors and keyboards, so emotions will always be shown on the boards.

I do not send referrals to others, as I would do in the past. I did not get much success in getting referrals. I just enjoy myself, when I am mylot and try to participate in as many discussions, as I can. It is always great fun and enjoyment to talk/discuss with dear friends different 'topics'. I feel that this is the best site and I do not feel like logging in to any other site.
