Friends or No Friends for mylot?

I was referred to mylot from a friend of mine a few months back and recently she hasn't been on so it got me to thinking about the referral. Lately I have been coming to mylot a lot more than I had only because it is becoming colder outside so I am not out as much and also my kids are back in school so I have a bit more time on my hands so I was thinking I wonder if she is getting paid for my referral since I have been mylotting more even though she hasn't. But it also got me to thinking that I should try to get some referrals out, I sent a few friends they link before but no one signed up or if they did it wasn't through my referral but I went ahead and sent another friend of mine a referral and after I dod it got me to thinking in a way I hope she doesn't sign up only because when I mylot there are things that I talk about that no one else (friends) may know about me, my family and my life not that any of it is a lie there is just stuff I like to keep secret but also because I don't know anyone other than the friend mentioned above personally on mylot I feel I can be more open. So I don't think I want to refer any other friends even if it does give me more money because I like I am able to be open on here.
What about you do you refer a lot of freinds or are you like me and just like to hog mylot to yourself that way you can be open???

I appreciate how you feel because I am the same way. I would not have a problem if any of my friends wanted to join but I prefer this place to be MY thing because I have spoken about things that I don’t necessarily want anyone outside the MyLot family to know about. I like the fact that this site is my space and I have friends here that are just mine!

the one who referred you here still earns even she doesn't log in here that often. i was able to get to the pay out every month because of my active referrals. that's the beauty of having referrals here. as of to date, i have 5 active referrals.

es you're right. that's one way of saying and extending our gratitude to the one who referred us here.this site is paying me reasonably and im staying as long as they still exist. this is my first priority site among all.nice post you've got here.

That is great that you are able to have so many active referrals, I was guessing that my friends still made money since I was still active which I am sure she is thankful for because she hasn't been on for a month and I have been really active the last month and a half...thanks for your response =)

I do not send referrals to others, as I would do in the past. I did not get much success in getting referrals. I just enjoy myself, when I am mylot and try to participate in as many discussions, as I can. It is always great fun and enjoyment to talk/discuss with dear friends different 'topics'. I feel that this is the best site and I do not feel like logging in to any other site.

Yes, this is very exciting site and we get to know many new friends here and we get to learn a lot from them and whenever we are in need of any advice, help's is just a discussion away. Many dear friends come up with their useful and wonderful suggestions on our problems.

Actually, you are right. When we don't have close friends outside in the lot, they would not know so much about our inner-thoughts and feelings. Actually, it's more comfortable talking and interacting with online friends that we discover while being on the lot, than friends outside. Because friends outside; the form of interaction is somewhat more direct and a bit different. Unless the person already knows me in and out, I might not recommend a friend to the lot...but if it's just another internet user, I might. I go out with my crowd sometime, and if they know I'm typing personal thoughts stuffs, they might tease me mercilessly.

I am not so worried about them making fun of me because there isn't much that I would out on here that might get me teased but there are things that I feel I just don't want people that might personally to know. To me being able to be open is more meaning to me than making a few extra cents from a referral. Thanks for your response.

there are other sites like this one that you could go to if you want to remain anonymous. If I had a friend that felt like you do I don't think I would feel she is a very good friend. I wonder why you don't want friends to know these things about you. Friends are actually the ones we let know things about us.

Some of the people that I was referring are friends but not close friends to where they know a lot of things about me or my family. The person that referred me was actually a friend of my mother in laws and even with her I know her but not really well. I have one friend that I can tell anything to but I just feel like there are some things that should be kept private. If you put yourself out there the more that chance of being bit in the butt. There isn't anything so far that i have put on here that I wouldn't want a personal friend to know but I don't know if there may come a time when I will write something that might be personal and private. I guess it just comes down to what we feel comfortable putting down and how easy it is to open up to people.

I never really thought about it but you may have a very good point. I think I stick to the friends that don't know me that well for my referrals. I too seem to have the opportunity to be more open with my feelings on here than I do any where else. Thanks for the discussion, it has me thinking too. Have a great day and keep smiling.

Yeah I still have this as a referral through my website but I think as far as personal friends I am going to shy away from them and stick to strangers and mylot peoples LOL thanks for your response...glad I got you thinking Hehehehe =)

The couple of referals I have are some of my online Friends, but they are not here much apart from 1 of those
Your Friend willnot earn that much from you mylotting, so unless she has a lot of referals under her that are active I can not see that being the reason
My Daughter used to be on here a couple of years so of course yes at times I was very careful what I wrote about but not really anything much that she was not to know lol
You do have a point there though also if People invite Friends from work here and things like that they have to be very careful what they write lol

I am not sure how many referrals my friend has and I realize that if I am the only one than she isn't earning very much no matter how often i mylot. I don't truly think I can think of anyone of the top of my head that I could refer and honestly think they would stay and be worth referring. Every likes the idea of making money online sitting on your butt but they also think they will make it rich and once they realize you have to do the work here as well they decided not to do it. Well, I do refer my friends here in mylot. In fact I have some many referred members here. The only thing is most of them sign up but are never active. So I just enjoy myself posting and hope that my friends join as well as become active. That way its more fun and of course, I get more chances of earning.

Yes I am sure that it would be the same with me....no body that I have referred has signed up and stayed so far and I am sure it will continue you that so like you I am just going to mylot my heart out and make friends and a little bit of money in the mean time LOL Thanks for your response

I have a few referrals only 2 of them are active though. I also have one referral that I honestly don't know how I got as I don't know the person, but I am not complaining, but since I don't really know her I don't have to be embarrassed by anything I say in front of her. One of the referrals that is active is my sister and I don't have any secrets from her, and the other is someone who is close to me who pretty much only partiipates when I send him an email telling him I posted a new mylot discussion, so if there is something I don't really want him to see then I don't send him an email, so it works out.

I added my referral to my website and although I have gotten referrals for other site that I am on, I have yet to receive a referral from mylot. I still really enjoy coming here anyhow whether I have any referrals or not. Thanks for your response.

I prefer to refer a closer family member than other person who know me personally as I think it is better to protect one privacy and able to express ideas without the fear of being under monitor if the discussion one makes is all about the person whom I know. It is also a way to avoid being in competition with each other and to avoid being bias all the time as if you are always replying to your real friends other member may get jealous and would no longer be inspire to reply to your discussion if if you always have favorites. Thus, for better equality of treatment for me it is better to have friends only here in my lot than the real friends outside this site.

I agree with that also. And to be honest I would feel bad if I seemed to be favoring one over the other as well. I already had at least two discussions I started where I had a similar situations and that was just with strangers from here on mylot. The members that has responded all said pretty much the same thing and all of them were my friends here through mylot and I struggled a bit on who to give the best response to because they were all so good so i couldn't imagine if I had family or real life friends on here, they would probably be wanting me to favor them all the time. thanks for your response.

I do not mind if any of my friends are on here as they all know me very well and if there was something i did not want to say infront of them i will not say it on here either.Alot of my friends that are on here do tend to use it as a kind of a release as well as to get someone elses opinion.I come on here as i like alot of the people as well as the discussions.It is a great way to make friends have fun as well as make some money.

I agree jugsjugs...I like being here because it gives me the chance to ask some of the things I may not be able to ask personal friends and it really opens you up to so many different opinions. Although i don't know any of my mylot friends personally I still feel like I am able to be friends with them. It is always exciting to get on here and see what new discussions have been started and also what you earnins have gone up for just sitting and more or less talking with friends. Hello froggieslover this is checkmail and often do think of making mine all fiends referals on Mylot.But have some limitations in friendships, such as some have already joined, some are less interested, some busy,etc.Yeah me too sent some referal link but didn't worked for me.So I just stop worrying about the referal thing and tried to concentrate on the discusisons and responses.Well enjoy a lot of time o mylot discussing a lot of stuffs.

Hello checkmail, I am the same as you, I don't worry about referrals either anymore. The only person I was talking about recently is a friend that actually asked me about referring her after I was telling her about it. I am sure that she can join without my referral but whose to say she will even connect with me without my referral. I have just let it go for now and if she asks again I will just have to make sure I never say anything I wouldn't want her knowing LOL Thanks for your response.

i like to have referrals too to boost my earnings but i think it's really better to have those i don't personally know as i think it would interfere to my openness regarding my personal opinion and feelings as well as when sharing problems.
although at first, when i haven't established yet friendship here in mylot, i really asked my friends to join but none of them continued more than signing up
, because i felt alone but thanks to some senior friendly mylotters who added me as their friends
anyway, i think adding referrals or not depends on each one's main purpose here...to earn more or to ask for advices^^;

All of my friends with the exceptions of one are all friends that I made through mylot. I think it is much more fun to just try to get the earnings on your own then trying and worrying to get your referrals to stay and to also be active. Thanks for your response...

I've referred a few friends and before they came I was maybe a wee bit more open about certain things. There are certain family members who aren't getting an invite though!

My husband and I have both tried to refer friends in the past but they don't stay with the site for long, though one has come back and then has left again. Well I think it's better to just have a few friends on here that you know in person if any at all, and friends instead of family. I guess I am a more open person, but I respect you not being so open and wanting to keep things secret.
There were times I wished I could keep things secret but couldn't, and well that's left me aggravated, annoyed or embarrassed!

There has been times when I have said things to others and then it either was thrown back in my face or mocked so I have learned that it is best to be private. I like that I am able to come onto here and talk about some of the things that I might not tell others.
As for the referrals, I am just about like you and your husband with not only mylot but other sites as well, I send them links and they either don't sign up or sign up and then don't do anything else so I never made money from a referral. Thanks for your response =)

That is why I never invited my mother to join. I was seriously thinking about it once, because I think she'd like it and she could always use the extra money. But I sometimes talk about very personal things, and have brought up many things from my past that I'm sure my mother wouldn't like to read about. So I decided not to invite her.

i am trying to introduce mylot to other people, friends and no friends. but i am not that lucky to have more of them that will get active, like i am. fortunately, i got one from the office who is the most active referral of mine, these days. having a lot of active referrals really help in gaining more cash. although i think about my referrer why she became a little cold with mylot, as she seldom visit the site, i know she is still earning from my activities too. so i try to be very active not only for my own earnings, but also to let her know that i never forget, she helped me get into this great site.

I know the referrals help out with your earnings but I think it is more of a hassle to try and keep the referrals that it is to just do a bit more work into mylot yourself. I like your thinking though with your referrals it is very nice. Thanks for your response =)
