I have 3 banana trees in my back yard and the crop this year is HUGE!!! I have so many bananas I don't know what to do next..I am looking for any recipes you might have except for bread and pudding, that I could use some of these in..They are so good this year. On the small side but sweet as anything..If you can help, I'd be very appreciative,,especially recipes from other countries!! Thanks in advance

No, its is a big help.,,I never thought about banana custard...and custard is one of my very favorite things. As a matter of fact, I made some just about an hour ago. (actually I made flan which is custard with caramel sauce on the bottom, delicious) I love the idea of banana custard and will try it tomorrow..I also love the banana boat thing..The only problem is that my bananas are very petite and not a whole lot of ice cream would fit in them. (Maybe thats a good thing!!) However, on Thanksgiving I'm in charge of desert and am doing a desert buffet with a large varietcy of things I learned in school. The petite banana boats might work well afterall..Thanks for responding and I'll let you know how the custard turns out..J

oooh you are so lucky! I would love banana trees!
Its not a proper recipe, but have you ever tried splitting one and putting melted dark chocolate down the middle? So good.
Enjoy your bananas. Good source of potassium.

Hi English
I dont even bother slicing..I just peel and dunk them directly into the chocolate with every bite...its soooooo good!!!! Yes they are a great source of potassium which I need as I have a problem holding potassium for some reason..I eat as least two a day since they have become ready..My trees are just so full that I need to use large qtys in something that hopefully will freeze well..I guess its a nice problem to have as even bananas have gone up in price and there is nothing like going out to the back yard every morning and picking a couple for breakfast!! Thanks for the post..J

I like to take a banana and freeze it, then blend it with one cup of milk, can be fat free, it just tastes rich and delicious with the frozen bananas. I also like to put a spoonful of peanut butter in the shake, or chocolate syrup.
