Yes, it's true. Due to the devastating bush fires we had in Victoria last year, where nearly 200 people died, the Government & Fire Authorities have come up with a new warning system. The very highest level is "Catastrophic".
In Adelaide & most of South Australia, we are going to be put on catastrophic fire alert tomorrow & the next day. And it's only November. Usually we get this sort of very dangerous weather in January & February, sometimes December.
Anouncements are made via radio & TV, and EVERY person who has a mobile phone will receive this catastrophic warningvia text.
What does it mean for me? Not a lot, unless a fire starts in my area, in which case I am in the danger zone for flying embers.
For people who lives in hills, it means they need to evacuate before a fire starts, & all schools are closed.

I always forget that your seasons are opposite of ours. We are heading into winter. It has rained and spit snow all day. I hope you stay safe.

It would be unlikely that I would be in an unsafe position in the event of a bushfire. Only if there is a big one in the hills nearby, & then I would need to watch out for flying embers.
Im glad you are still here on My Lot, but if Im not mistaken, I dont think I saw any new posts from you, just responses.

The firespotters will be out in full force tomorrow & the day after. The sooner a fire is spotted, the easier it is to fight if. Of course, not letting fires start in the first place is even better.
