The start of Medical rationing

It seems that the administration has found a panel of "experts" who say that women do not need mammograms until they are 50, ten years later than the AMA recommends. There was a news report that Medicare will be given a budget to work within for the next year. As the money is spent then more elective procedures must be put off into next year. Can you say Rationing?

As has already been mentioned, the administration didn't "find" them, this panel has been around. I am definitely not in favor of their recommendations, which are beyond idiotic when it comes to their recommendation against self exams, but I'm confident that the insurance companies will use it as an excuse not to cover mammograms for women under 50 in the future. I don't agree that the president or anyone in the administration instructed them to come up with these findings for the same reason that any conspiracy is flawed from the start. If more than one person knows something, the risk of exposure increases exponentially. I do suggest though that every woman (and every man who cares about a woman) contact their elected representatives with their objections to this study carrying any weight whatsoever at any time in the future. Every person in every person's address book should also receive an email suggesting that they do the same.

I'd just like to second your comments, Spall! I've already contacted my Rep. and my two Senators and I'm confident I'll receive an answer from them because I always do and I'll let everyone know what they say. Annie

I sent out some emails myself, annie. Now I'll be on those darned mailing lists again but it's important for everyone to speak out against this study before it's used as an excuse to limit care.

This is just the beginning. The morons who support socialist healthcare have no clue as to the damage about to be inflicted on the best medical care in the world... but they are about to find out.... and they will be paying a lot more for it too. You cannot add 111 new bureaucracies to healthcare and expect the price to go down.
