Do you put up with your friends wife or husband just to keep the peace?

I have a friend whose husband is obnoxious. Everyone hates to be around him. He puts his wife down and is very stubborn and opinionated. I put up with him so I do not lose her as a friend. Do you have friends like this too? How do you deal with it?

I do tend to have to put up with my friends husband well he is sort of a husband lets put it that way.I also have to put up with my husbands friends wives that i have nothing in common with and they are annoying.

I am not sure which is worse - the husbands or wives? lol. Women can be obnoxious too.

I have had to do that in the past I have also had to put up with my husbands friends to keep the peace not sure which is worse usually if I know the person is going to be there I try not to be I dont deal with it I just avoid it LOL

I do the same. If I have to be there I am usually very quiet and always try to go in different rooms.

i know what you mean and yes, i have done that just to support my friend and tried to avoid him as much as possible. we go out for coffee or whatever but do not stay home.

Exactly! She offers me her place to stay over if we go out late and I have to always find an excuse why I cannot stay. It makes me grateful I am divorced!~ lol
