I just wanted to let youall know that I finally got a picture of Cyrus, my horse, uploaded on my profile. This picture was on my cell phone and somebody at Walmart (good ol' Walmart, lol) last night told me that I could send it to my email. I had forgotten how to upload it on mylot and I had to go through all that again, if you know what I mean. Anyway, go check it out and let me know what you think. Kathy.

He's not broken to be ridden yet. He's old enough and I wish my nephew would come after him and take him to the trainer. He also needs to be gelded. I'm not going to keep him because he's a little too unpredictable due to the fact that he's a stud horse. My nephew is going to swap him out for an older horse for me as soon as he can find one. He's taking his time more about it now. I think he realizes he got in too big a hurry when he gave me Cyrus. Kathy.

Oh so that is why you have cyrus as a username. I wondered. The village where I summer is sort of rustic and we have people riding horses right through town. In fact the residentiall blocks are sort of checkerboarded with the farms and we have pigs and goats and horses and even water buffalo and zebras running around in some of the people's yards. I had not heard about the zebras before I saw them one day when driving around town and I did come to a screeching halt to go take a closer look as I had never seen one of those before except in pictures.

I had a hard time coming up with a username because every one I tried had already been taken. I tried "cyrus" because I like Billy Ray so much and I hit the jackpot, lol! You're in the united states, aren't you? I just thought it seemed strange that you have water buffalo in your area. I have seen zebras at the zoo in Birmingham. Kathy.

I thought it was pretty strange, too, but the old-timers here are used to them. The first time I saw zebras grazing alongside the road in Southern California, it was surreal! Just not something expected at all. Happy holidays!

It's times like this, Kath..that I get really annoyed that all my "myLot" comes in on Outlook Express, so I can't go to any links, photos, etc., in any discussions unless I go to the mother site. So I will have to comment on Cyrus...on my next posting! Maybe you remember...but ANY horse, is a beautiful horse to me..so I am sure I will be astounded at "Cyrus!" If I remember correctly (remember, I haven't peeked)...he is a stallion, isn't he? So, after viewing pic, it will be up to me to guess his lineage. We'll see if I have retained any of my "horse sense!" Cheers!

Would it be possible for you to go on line to the AQHA, and find his registration papers? Usually the name has a reflection of sire/dam! It would just give you a lot more leverage when trading him (sadly)as the person/persons (new owners) would be able to use his prowess as a breeder, and offer papers and Lineage. Coming from cattle country, Quarter horses were common...but for some reason, I still can't understand, I feel in love with the spirit of Arabians, even tho' Q-horses are temperamentally a much stabler horse! Good on you, Kath..for uploading the pic. Stay well..and Cheers!

I just hope you will like him when you see him. I don't really know his lineage, myself, because my nephew has his registration papers and he doesn't know where they are. I just know he's a registered Quarter Horse. Yes, he is a stallion. I'm not going to keep him because he's too unpredictable. My nephew is going to swap him out for an older horse for me when he finds one. Kathy.

I thought the picture turned out a little blurry. It also turned out to be smaller than I expected. It doesn't look blurry on my cell phone, though. This is the first time I have ever uploaded any of my pictures on the computer and there has to be a first time for everybody. Kathy.

Hi,Kathy It's such a long time to be here.and so glad to see your discussion again and so does your horse. Just heard of his name before and fianlly I saw his face,so handsome and well shaped. But how old is he?why you want to change for an older one? Frank.

I'm glad you like Cyrus. He's probably about 4 or 5 years old now. I don't really know for sure but I'm guessing he's about this age. My nephew gave him to me in 2007 and he was about 2 or 3 then. If I could see his registration papers it would tell lwhat year he was born and I would know his right age then. The reason why I want to change him is because he's a stallion and he has knocked me down and kicked me a few times, although this didn't happen all at once. Stallions are bad to do these things. My nephew and I didn't think about anything like this happening when he first gave him to me. He got in too big a hurry giving him to me. It takes time to pick out the right horse for the right person, if that makes sense. We (my nephew and I) weren't taught this, though. I guess the reason why is because when we were growing up, we had a farm out here and we had a lot of horses. There was one handy that was suitable for me to ride back then. It's good to see you back on mylot. I like your new avatar. Is this your girlfriend? Kathy.

That's a nice horse. How old is he/she? My daughter has a horse...a female named Bailey. She rides a lot but I haven't been on a horse in years.

Thank you. My nephew gave him to me in 2007 and he was about two or three years old then. He's probably about five by now. My nephew couldn't remember what his age was on the registration papers but he thought he was at least this old. I'm not going to keep him, though, because he's too unpredictable. My nephew is going to swap him out for an older horse for me as soon as he can find one. He's taking his time more about it this time. I think he realizes he got in too big a hurry when he gave me this one. Kathy.

I hope you liked it. It turned out a little blurry, I thought. However, it's not blurry on my cell phone. I was hoping the picture would be larger. Oh well! We all have to have a first time. Kathy.

I volunteer at a therapeutic riding center here in Jasper called "EASI" and I'm on the drill team out there. There is a horse I ride out there in the meantime. We're not meeting during the winter because there are too many bad days during this season. Some people like to ride when it's reallly cold but I was taught not to because horses can be very frisky when it's below 50 degrees and I have been hurt a few times. I'm glad you like the picture. I thought it looked a little blurry on here but on my cell phone it doesn't look blurry. I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving! Kathy.
