Ever needed to stay up? What did you do to keep yourself from dozing off?

Tonight I'm burning several DVD CD's my brother needs for his reviews and it's really taking a long long while. I'm trying to burn all 10 of them and I'm guessing one would consume about a good 10-15minutes of my time. It's almost 9pm here and I've barely burned about 3 of them out of the 10.
Now, I'm really wondering, did you ever need to do something that would require you to be awake? What did you do to keep from dozing off? I don't really need to be awake, but I'm thinking if I postpone this tomorrow, then I'd waste a lot of time tomorrow instead of preparing to go to work.
So, has this ever happened? What did you do?

There were couple of times that I need to wake up even late at night during the time when I was still working with the rescue unit. I never had any difficulty then considering that during the emergency there is always the adrenalin rush. I have resigned from such work already and now I usually sleep at 11pm or 12 midnight the usual. Whenever there are times that I really need to sleep late, then I drink coffee.

Over the past few years, I have had a lot of occasions when I have had to remain awake over the night. In those cases I have usually preferred to have light dinner and rather take a bit more of coffee or tea to keep me awake.
The other think which I keep doing is take a 10 minute nap in between which extends my sleepless spell by another hour or so. But overall, I had doing it :)
Cheers!
Ram
