What do you think of Adam Lambert's performance in the AMA?

Two words: Train. Wreck. That was awful, even by awards show performance standards. The performances at awards shows are always bad...the balance is off, the lighting is too bright or too dark, but that's all technical. Adam's performance was just plain bad. The song was terrible. The tonsillectomy was embarrassing. The roll across the platform was ridiculous....

Now, I will admit that I was not a fan of Adam's from the start. I thought he was kind of pleasant to look at at his audition and I thought Kara gave him an overly hard time about being theatrical because he was a theater performer. He grew up in musical theater (from the time he was 6) and toured with Wicked. Yeah, he's going to be theatrical. But then I started watching him and listening to him and decided that he was overshadowing some much better talent in Danny and, later, Kris, and it would be a shame if he won based on hype alone.

And after that performance, had he won, it would have been on hype alone because, left to his own devices, he didn't do so hot.

I don't care if he kissed another guy or not. I DO agree that he's getting a lot of double standard treatment. Why are there no threads about Lady Gaga's performances? I LOVE Lady Gaga, though but it's not fair to treat Adam in such a manner if some people are not willing to treat the other the same way. I was watching HLN and I can see both sides of the argument, however. I REFUSE to say that boy-to-boy kissing is inappropriate. If two of the same gender are kissing, why is that not inappropriate? But some of it was indeed very sexual. Yet, you have to remember the time the AMA's were showing. 10-11pm-ish when children would be in bed, but some host on HLN said that some parents probably let their kids stay up to see Adam. So, yeah. I don't know about that. I know that if I had kids' they would've been in bed and probably not watching some of the awards shows to start with. Other performers have sexual performances, though not on the scale Adam went to. I don't agree that it calls for a ban. Michael Jackson grabbed his crotch, Elvis Presley swayed his hips, Madonna simulated an orgasm during a live performance in the 90's after the Toronto police told her if she did, she'd be charged with indecent exposure, the whole video she made to "Like a Prayer", anybody? She had cones for boobies! Madonna kissed Britney. She wasn't banned from any shows like GMA after it, was she? Nor was Britney. The greatest performers are often the subject of controversy.

But, whatever. I dug the performance. I dug the music. Is it a bit much? Yes. But, now you know what to expect in the future from Adam Lambert. I am surprised people are outraged when they seem to forget Eminem & 50 Cent performed too? Lol. Whom, I have nothing against, but if people want to be outraged and TRULY outraged about sexuality during the AMA's or about profanity or the influence their children were getting - think about the rest of the show! - they should be outraged about more than just Adam.

Not that I am 'cause I'm not. Just sayin'.

I love Adam, but his performance is a bit awkward. Hahaha, I mean... it is not a performance I usually expect from him. The song was so boring from start to end. And his belting style became so redundant through out the song. And the dancers at the back....uhhhmmm, kiss.. ughh! I don't like it, really. Hope he'll do better in the future.
