What do you think of Adam Lambert's performance in the AMA?

I didn't get to watch the American Music Awards in full, but I saw Adam Lambert's performance. Though I really like him during his AI days, I don't know how to react while he was performing his song onstage, with the guy-to-guy kissing and all. Plus the song wasn't really that good, in my opinion. How about you, how did you find his performance that night?

Two words: Train. Wreck. That was awful, even by awards show performance standards. The performances at awards shows are always bad...the balance is off, the lighting is too bright or too dark, but that's all technical. Adam's performance was just plain bad. The song was terrible. The tonsillectomy was embarrassing. The roll across the platform was ridiculous....
Now, I will admit that I was not a fan of Adam's from the start. I thought he was kind of pleasant to look at at his audition and I thought Kara gave him an overly hard time about being theatrical because he was a theater performer. He grew up in musical theater (from the time he was 6) and toured with Wicked. Yeah, he's going to be theatrical. But then I started watching him and listening to him and decided that he was overshadowing some much better talent in Danny and, later, Kris, and it would be a shame if he won based on hype alone.
And after that performance, had he won, it would have been on hype alone because, left to his own devices, he didn't do so hot.

And that was the song that was supposed to introduce him as a solo artist. Yeah, the song isn't really good. But the performance kinda freaked me out. Maybe he did that for hype, still there are other things he could've done so that people would pay attention to him.

I could care less if the guy is gay straight or bi - but I shouldn't have to watch it on tv. Well actually I didn't watch it - I find the whole AMA is just a stage show with no real emphasis the music. It's all about who can bring the biggest shock value to the stage. I think the AMA has lost of it's credibility. But back to Lambert - I do agree with him there is somewhat a double standard - but I don't want to see any of it. I don't want to see straight people making out on tv. It goes back to trying to force others to your opinion. They would get a lot further if instead of being like Adam Lambert the gay singer if he would be Adam Lambert the singer.

I agree... he's already a good singer. Maybe he should've stayed away from the "shock value" trend in live performances. It would've been better if the performance showcased more of his strength as a singer.

I love Adam, but his performance is a bit awkward. Hahaha, I mean... it is not a performance I usually expect from him. The song was so boring from start to end. And his belting style became so redundant through out the song. And the dancers at the back....uhhhmmm, kiss.. ughh!
I don't like it, really. Hope he'll do better in the future.
