I think now that he plays only in the test matches and India hardly plays 4-5 test match a year, he will be around for at least 3 years. In that time India should be able to find a capable replacement for Dravid. I actually think young Ravindra Jadeja has the talent to be the next Wall, but his temperament is a question mark. The other option is Rohit Sharma, but for me he is more interested in shorter versions, than the longer version of the game. So we need to wait and watch the younger crowd coming through. Cheers! Ram

Dravid is irreplacable and unsubstitutable because of his untiring contribution to the Indian team specially in it's winning history. Dravid is a technical batsman who can divert the flow of a losing game to a match win. Indian cricket lovers always look upto Dravid whenever Indian team is in problem. Still if Dravid needs a replacement, from the point of view of a calculated captain I choose 'Laxman'. He can fulfill the absence of Dravid upto to a big extent. Moreover he is quite a consolidated batsman form the test match point of view. He can well handle a match when there is necessity of preserving wickets.

Replacing Dravid is impossible. He is a phenomenon. The best team player I have ever seen. The kind of sacrifices and adjustments he has made for the team is unparallel. his devotion for the game, concentration while batting and fielding, gentleman behaviour on the ground and contribution towards victory is hardly comparable. Tendulkar might be bigger in stature in india but no one can question Dravid's contribution to Indian victories not only in Test Matches but also in ODIs. remember when dravid had to take the wicketkeepers gloves even though he is not a regular keeper to get the balance of the team right. And the strategy of playing the extra batsman did work as India reached the finals of the worldcup. Also remember any big partnership record you think of, Dravid was there in it. be it Tests or ODIs. He is the only man to have two triple century partnership in ODIs. talkingabout talent I think there are twoplayers who can replace him- Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane. Both have excellent skills and good temperament. BUt to reach the heights that Dravid has scaled they have to work extra hard and show much more dedication.

Dravid is one player who has concentrated very hard to get the status of 'The Wall' that he has got today because of his immense power to stay and concentrate and bat through long innings that has helped Team India to make so many useful partnerships. I think that one player named Cheteshwar Pujara was being talked about very much to be the next Dravid for team India but has not yet given the opportunity for playing for the national side since at that time Badrinath was also in excellent form and they preferred him over Pujara. I think Pujara might be the next Dravid only if we are able to see him come in the national side and get a chance to play for Team India!!

Dravid is a class batsman and there is nobody to be compared with him.He is really a great wall for india batting lineup. While checking past of indian cricket we can clearly see that.We have hardly forgotten that he was a brilliant wicket keeper also.He will surely there for couple of years also.By that time its a great need to find a new man.I think suresh raina can do that job. ,
