i dont like pets. i am not fun of having pets at home. though friends and families incourage me to have a dog to watch over the house especially at night, still i don't like dogs, i think i can't learn to like, love or whatever dogs! cats either soooo meaowwww, ekkkkkkk.....
i am contemplating of taking a snake as a pet, because they say its a luck! but i am worried that i might his dinner instead :-)
i tried fish... it died few day after they are put into an immaculately clean aquarium bowl.
bird maybe, haven't tried yet. what do you think? do you have any suggestion as to what kind of pets i should take care of except the above mentioned animals?

Go for the hamsters! They're cute and really fun to watch. And they won't roam around your house like the dogs, they are not cats either, they're not scary like snakes, and they don't die easily like fishes. Go for hamsters, but if I'll be choosing a pet I'll go for Shitzu

You could get a snake that wouldn't grow too big or one that will grow slowly but, if you dont like pets in the house, dont have one just because friends and family think you should. I am not keen on having dogs around either and they take a lot of looking after.

I have three Chihuahuas, and they are my hearts. I can’t imagine life without them. Sometimes, they are my only reason for getting out of bed in the mornings to do what I have to do. They are certainly the best alarm system I have ever had. They will let you know if they hear something out of the ordinary. They are very protective, and they will sound the alarm if they sense that something is not right. They are loveable dogs, but I have found that they do not do well around strangers or around children. My house is peaceful most of the time, because not too many people come to visit us. I like to think that my pups are part of the reason no one comes around much. That is usually the way I like to have it. We do have a large back yard that is fenced in for them (I spent almost $3,000 fencing it in for them to have a place to play), so they have a place to run around outside if company does stop by. I usually don’t let them stay out for too long, though, especially if I can’t be out there with them. They are my babies, and I am proud to say that I spoil them LOL

i may understand the pain you will experience once one when of them will be gone, you must love them dearly, dont you?
anyway pets they say are good company. i know of the friend who cried a bucket when her dog was caught by a dog pound agent. she literally knock on their door just to get her beloved dog back no matter what it costs. and she did.

haha...hello alexysabelle!
personally, i would choose to have a pet dog in the house... at first, i am not also a pet lover and i don't really like any pet at home...haha coz i don't have patience in taking care of them...but when my bf then (husband now) gave me a puppy as a gift, that's the time i started to like pets! hehe and i just appreciate how sweet that dog was and makes me like them...
now, i don't have a dog anymore coz i just lost my pet last year, but i do have cats now...haha i adopted one cat and she gave us 4 more kittens...hehe they are also cute but i also find them annoying sometimes...
so i still prefer to have a dog in the house more than anything else and i wish to have one again...sooner...

This is a very good topic i must say! O well if you would ask me to have a pet, i would go for a fish, just like what i own last last year. Actually it really depends on the fish. I own a piranha, recently, and they are beautiful specially when you see them in front of a light, their reddish shiny scales glow. I did not even have a problem on feeding such pet, cause that fish eats a lot. he always eat time to time. And the tanker is very clean, i did not even clean it. Actually i have a automatic cleaner. I will not dare touch it but you know, one day i found out that they are not that dangerous. I put my hands inside the tanker and he run. And he did not attack my hands. But when i put a live fish, he immediately attacked it and cut it into two pieces in seconds, and he cut it perfectly, like a cut by a knife. Their teeth are very sharp! They are also big! And most of all they are cool! Cheers....

from the looks of it you seem to be a pet lover. yeah i believe you, it can be a best therapy for a momentary emotional drawback. in my case if i am emotionally upset, i tend to my garden and like you i also talk to my plants. true, its a relief.
Good luck goodday!

I personally prefer a Cat, there just as loving as a dog and there less matience not that Im saying a dog wouldn't be amazing but most places dont accept dogs where you want to live and there way more time consuming.
