ok i grew up as a cathic and i guess i am still a cathic. but i'm told by a few people who claims to be christians that i shouldnt speak of God or the bible because i dont go to church, and learned things off the internet.
now i used to go to church, and i was spent 12 yrs going to ccd, (bible study) and i speak of how God would want us to treat and respect others.
i did loose my faith for a few years, but having friends that helped me to make it stronger. and see how bless i am and i am a mirceal as well. i almost dies twice, came within mins of dying, told i wouldnt walk again and i walked. was told just two years ago that the doctors cant explain how i am still walking.
so have you ever told anyone they shouldnt talk about God or a bible when they talk about God ?

No and I would never tell anyone not to talk about their beliefs. Especially their own personal experiences. Everyone falls and no one I have ever met who is christian has yet to over come the world that I know of. Its not how many times you fall its how many times you get back up and try to do the right things.

If someone has told you that, they aren't Christians. Even if you are speaking of something they don't agree with, how can a true Christian help you or share scripture if you don't talk about what you are thinking.
I dont go to church either, but I am going to look for one. One of my biggest problems with churches is the hypocrisy of some of the people going, which is wrong on my part. Now I know that I am to go to church and focus on God, rather than the people who are just sunday morning Christians.
I am so happy for you, that you are experiencing the presence of God in your life!

Hi, syankee525. No, no one has ever tell me not to talk about God or the bible. And if they ever did I would tell them to go to sleep and see if they will wake up the next morning alive.
Continue to preach the word of God. You are a servant and you just follow God's footsteps and watch what he does for you!

Well, I'm not christian. I used to be. I still talk about god and the bible, and yes, people tell me I shouldn't talk about the bible or god because they think I hate christianity. About others talking about god and the bible, as long as they're not preaching to me, telling me I'm going to hell because I'm not christian, then I have no problem discussing and debating the bible. I hold the bible to historical standards, and from that viewpoint, the bible fails miserably -- but I don't begrudge people their choice to believe. I think whatever makes one a good person and gives them peace within is the right religion for them, whatever that religion may be, or no religion at all, if that is what works for them. Personally I'm very religious: I'm Wiccan.

I guess where you are going with this is it politically correct. Right now it seems discussing religion is a volatile subject. We are at a point globally trying to define ourselves and our beliefs so you have people to contend with who are flat out atheists who will not entertain any kind of belief, you have spiritual seekers like me who are skeptical and want the truth and you have fanaticists of their own relgion who refuse to see past their own indoctrination. I grew up as a catholic but found it to be pegorative, hypocritical and closed to questioning. Curiosity is my nature so I studied, questioned despite the directive not too and am still doing that throughout my life. I have been quite contraversal and open about my opinions on religion and have received anywhere from understanding to volitile responses. Your experiences sound like they are wrapped in the spiritual and are quite incredible. But who's to say what kind of God is helping you, is it your own psychological willingness to get well? These questions are hard to answer. I say speak of what you want and believe but be ready for conflicting views in the process. And most importantly keep an open mind. Cheers!

I have never told anyone that. Just because you don't participate in organized religion doesn't mean that your opinions mean any less than anyones else. The difference is that you have taught yourself differently than some others. Some people depend on their preachers or priests to guide them in their learning. You have just chosen to learn from research and your own translations of things. I bet you could give any one of those that have said that to you a run for their money on their religous knowledge. Maybe you should get them researching a little

By giving everyone a different view, God gives us all a larger picture than any one person can see.Everyone should talk about God. Interaction is how learning and teaching is really done. Those that don't want you to speak are the ones who want to control the message. God wants freedom to speak for everyone. How else can we ever see the BIG PICTURE?? From what you say, you do need to be speaking. As for myself, I have had a few tell me not to speak but most just give me that look that they wish I would quit talking. Ah, but it's all part of life, part of learning for all. Never let anyone talk you into not speaking or interacting. There is no one exactly like you. That means you have a piece of the puzzle no one else has. I don't want missing pieces in my picture. God doesn't either. Tell your friends that.
