| | Hello Boyetski, thanks for your opinion. I agree that still fresh foods are the best source of nutirents but what if you have no time cooking or eating those fresh foods? What if you are eating them and yet not enough? Taking supplemental vitamins will really help if you cannot have enough nutrients as what your body needs daily. The reactions of hyperacidity really depends on the vitamins you are taking especially ascorbic acids that can cause hyperacidity. Multivitamins will not cause hyperacidity than Ascorbic acid/Vit.C especially when you take it in full stomach. | | | |

Partly because of the way it's grown and partly because of the way it's processed, the food in the grocery store doesn't have nearly as many vitamins and minerals as it should. I do agree with many answers above that the food that we eat may not provide enough nutrients that we need on a daily basis, and sometimes it may be contaminated, processed and, etc. It's not like our ancestors has to worry about nutrition and health like us now. The pollution in the world and many diseases increase the needs for more nutrients to fight and to nourish the body. There is nothing like whole food from nature because it contains a lot more phytochemicals that work in synergy more than the synthetic vitamins that we eat. Some of it that human not yet discovered. (Which may be beneficial to our health as well) So I agree with both ways : Eat right and take multivitamins for the best nourishment and protection. We gain both ways. :) Sorry for a long answer.
