Since it didn't get any response in religion I figured maybe a new subject would help. For those of you who don't know bohemian grove is a camp for the elites of the world to get away from women get drunk and act like teenagers. It is near Monte Rio, California. It has been around for over 100 years and has had many presidents on its guest/membership list. The most disturbing thing is the effigy or re-enactment that is done yearly of cremation of cares in which a dummy (at least I sure hope it is) is burned to a sacrifice of an owl which some claim represents Babylonian God Moloch. Of course members say its all symbol of throwing off the "cares" of the world and returning to the nature of the red woods and having good clean fun. But ... the dummy being burned looks like a representation of a child. Many of those attending yearly are the same political leaders who claim to be good Christians. It could all be just going camping and letting loose but the idea of reenacting human sacrifices of what appears to be children is not any play I would like to see or even cheer on, I think at the very least these people need to do some remodeling of their plays and keep in mind no matter where they are they are still public officials and their actions reflect on our nation and the religions they say they represent. What do you think? Is a play of human sacrifice of children appealing to you? Should world leaders of Industry and Politics be members of Bohemian Grove?

Guy Fawkes Night is done out in the open isn't it? Since you brought up the subject how do you feel about guy Fawkes, have you ever participated in this celebration? A little off subject I know. I read in a few places where he is very popular ranking in the top 50-100 people of all time. As they say "One Man's Freedom Fighter is Another Man's Terrorist".

That's the first time I have of that going on in California. Aye, do a little research on Molech and you will see that was a hideous idol -- I think of Moab. It was absolutely terrible. I don't think their metal idol was shaped like an owl, but it was a hideous thing. It was hollow and fire was set inside of it. Arms protruded upward from its mouth. After it got good an hot, idol worshipers would start beating on drums--so no one would hear the screams of the babies placed live on the arms and rolling into the cursed image. Horrible.
Of course, this is inspired by a demonic spirit or spirits, which are still around today, which take "new" avenues of killing babies.
Burning an effigy is bad too. Yes, some people call themselves Christian, but a real Christian is one with Christ inside of them. These are works He would not do.

Thank you for the reply. I know high school and college kids burn opposing teams mascot and player dummies all the time but the thing that bothers me about this is the owl and the fact that the dummies seem proportioned to that of a child. I read elsewhere that originally it was a statue of Buddha. I don't know if its true or not but I wonder why they changed it from Buddha statue to an owl. I cant say I would be eager to participate in this kind of yearly activity. I also read that a veteran broke in and set fire to part of their campgrounds with the intent of an armed confrontation of those who go there but it was empty. He was sentenced to 11 years of prison.
