What camera do you shoot with?  email this discussion to a friend?

What camera does the rest of ya'll shoot with?

I have a SLR Canon EOS 5D and I love it!

I also have a Sanyo S3 3.2 megapixel camera that I started out with when I first began taking photos, then it evolved into a Olympus SP-500uz and now I'm using my first SLR.

I think I'm pretty set on this one, and don't plan on upgrading to anything else except for new lenses. I'd like to get a really nice macro lens in the future for it.

I am currently using a Canon Rebel XSi 12.2MP DSLR that I bought through Dell Computers earlier this year. I love it! it is a great entry level DSLR camera that is great for someone who views photography as a fun hobby and also for a professional photographer. It is a great tool because of its versatility and simplicity. I have found that it produces some awesome shots. Check out some of the shots that have been taken with my camera (www.imagekind.com/scottcoleson) I would love to have the Canon EOS 5D Mark II or the Hasselblad, but I can't have those right now due to the fact that they are beyond my price range.

Awesome photos!

And I love the Rebel. That was actually the Camera that I was looking into to buy, and instead I got my Canon (It was gifted to me! Lol, I don't think I would've paid for it out of pocket.)

I've shot with the Rebel a couple of times and two of my friends and a cousin also have the Rebel, it's a very awesome camera.

Thanks for the compliment! I love the Rebel as well! It works really well for my photography business and also just shooting for fun! I take pictures all the time. I actually have some new fun ones that I am planning on uploading of my son's first snow. They turned out great and a few of them were shown on the local news channel Friday night.

Hi, MissMarlaSinger, and welcome to myLot. With your nice camera you will be able to upload lots and lots of wonderful photos here in myLot, especially after you reach you 500th post, when your myLot privileges expand, lol.

I still have a pretty old camera, a Canon Digital Elph SD600 which is only 6mp, but it is rugged and easy to use and even though I keep dropping it, so far it has not broken. So as long as it keeps working it will remain a keeper.

Hi there! I shoot with a Nikon D60 - my first DSLR. I love it and hope that this year will be the year I finally master using it in most situations :) oh, and consistently take good shots too!

I have a Canon 30D. I'm quite happy with it, but I actually liked my 10D better. It is ruined though, I should have it repaired so I have an extra digital SLR. I'm thinking about upgrading, either to 50D or 7D. As for macro lens, me too! I really want the MP-60 something lens (it has a really weird name), the one that magnifies things up to 5 times. It is quite expensieve though, but I hope I'll be able to afford it in some months. If you have a lens with 52 mm filter size you could get macro filters to start with. Not as good, but much cheaper and good enough to be good fun to use.

Actually, you should be able to find those filters no matter what size if you look around.
Do you ever use third party lenses for your camera? I have a few Sigma lenses that I bought before I upgraded to the L series I use now. They are WAY cheaper than Canon, and even the super cheap starter models give fairly decent results. If you are just shooting for fun, you really don't need to spend six or seven hundred bucks or more on a piece of glass. Especially if you aren't making anything off the pics!

I haven't found anything bigger than 52 mm in any of the photo stores I've checked. It seems like most manufacturers go for that size, it is easier to make filters like that for quite small lenses as the optics would give a lot of strange side effects on bigger ones and they might get really expensieve.

I've tried a few Sigma lenses but the only one I've liked was my wide-angle (which I have to rechip I think). I've had a tele lens (which I ended up selling) and another one that I also sold. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I just don't like them even when they give good results. They don't have anything that resembles that macro lens though, haven't seen it for the other third party lenses either. I've had tried some of the super cheap lenses from both Canon and Sigma, some of my friends have them, and they're not good enough IMO.

I'm not shooting only for fun though. Mainly for fun, but it's getting more serious :-)
