Yes we have Snow and I mean Snow that is actually staying for more then half an hour
This is the most Snow we have had in years and as much as I hate the cold I love Snow
It was good this morning to go out in it, even though Gissi did not think so, specially not because I made him wear his coat which did not please the little Fellow at all
He also did not like the fact that he was sinking into the snow, as you all know he is a tiny Dog so well his little Legs sank into it
I did have to laugh how he walked in it lol, he was trying to avoid to step in it which of course is not possible lol
I did want to roll him in the Snow, but I got this look that said 'Don't even think about it'
, he just had to spoil my Fun didn't he
As he was walking in certain areas he was slipping I did try not to laugh but I just could not help it as he looked so funny, he was also walking very slow which made a change instead of darting of like he is on a Marathon
I had an enjoyable walk this morning, but I do believe the little Man was not impressed at all
Well in 10 Minutes the little Fellow will be getting his Coat on and back out again so I guess we will have another nice walk, well on my part anyway
How are your Pets dealing with the white Fluffy Stuff lol

Last night, I had already looked out and seen the snow falling. so as usual i got dexters coat on and his collar and lead, put my boots on , big scarf, coat etc.,
I opened the front door and we have 3 steps down to the drive , and dexter as usual bounced happily to the first step and then "eeeeek" He skidded to a halt as he spotted the cold white crunchy stuff all over his drive !!!
once he had recovered from his shock, off we went, and he was ok for a bout 5/10 minutes then he just wanted to get back indoors. He is short legged and very near to the ground and the snow sticks to his fur.But he was fine once he had his wet fur dried with a nice warm towel.
but it was the look of horror on his face when he spotted the snow after I had opened the front door. Priceless !!!

hi gabs
I don't have a little one yet. I still had to respond to this discussion. I could just Gissi looking and thinking where on earth is mom now..LOL
I think little dogs are adorable in the snow. Just because they do try to walk on top of the snow. Maybe he will get use to it by the time it melts away. Have a good work and take care of yourself while you are out there too.
Keep smiling my friends.

I bet that is cute to see. I know I remember when my toy poodle would go out in the snow then she acted that way too. It was cute. Is he doing better with it now.
Keep smiling.

My fuzzy felines avoid it when possible, when it first comes down. They get more adventurous later, especially Princess will become intrepid and go on an arctic adventure, striding across the snow once it has aged and hardened a little bit.You can imagine her as having cross country skis.

Told you I was sending you an xmas gift! LOL It's not like we don't have enough to spare.............
Spunky wasn't too pleased with our first real snow either and was doing figure 8's in the air trying to keep her feet out of it, but she's thrilled with it now and just loves to go out and play in it with me.

Haven't seen ya around. Seems you're off my friends list as well Spark. Hmmm? Gonna ask again for friendship. My beagle, Buster loves snow. He is a shot of him recently tunning through some that had fallen recently. About 6 inches this day. We have a few inches still on the ground here and have had about 10 inches so far this December here in Minnesota. How much have you got on the ground?
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

My dog loves the snow he was out running about with us this morning while we were having a snowball fight. He loves to bounce around in the snow.
It was a different matter with my youngest cat this is the first time she has seen snow and when she went out in it last night she didn't know what was happening. I think she got a shock when her paws hit the snow as was was not expecting the coldness. She ended up hiding under the car where there was no snow.
But she seemed to be enjoying it a bit more this morning I think that she knew what to expect when she went out so didn't mind it as much.

Hi Gabs,
lol! I would have love to see the little fellow waddling in the snow, my cats, just didn't want to go out at all but when they did, they look like as though they were floating in the snow, they were half covered in it, be careful and keep warm out there hun. Love and hugs.

Hi Tamara
I would have taken a Photo but it is a bit hard having him on the lead trying not to fall myself and walking along
I will try to get a Photo of him in his Coat
I think it is great as he wants to get back in so fast lol so I do not have to stay in the cold to long xxx

Just to make sure, Gaby, I had a look out the window, but all I can see is heat waves rising off the bitumen. You could cook an egg very quickly on the road today (local joke, but true) No sign of snow today.
Now if you were to take Gissi for a walk here, he'd have to wear shoes or the bitumen would burn his little feet. He could stay on the grass areas of course, except that with the drought we've had there isn't much grass and the dirt is almost as hot as the bitumen. If you were here, I'd carry him to the Nature Park just a block from here and he could have a good run in the shade of the trees - and chase the lizards, and bark at the variety of ducks in the water. He'd have fun.

I missed getting a glimpse of your town on the news tonight. I was cooking dinner and heard the TV news coming from the lounge (yes, he has the volume quite high). I heard about the deep snowfalls in Essex but couldn't drop what I was doing. Then I heard your town mentioned but I was too late to see it. I watched the next news but it wasn't on that one.

poor Gizzi...lol. My little one Jackie, he is the shortest and the smallest...he absolutely wants nothing to do with that white stuff. He thinks it's something that will hurt him. He has seen one snow fall and he wanted nothing to do with it, lol. Poor little guy.
The other 3, Ninja, Ozzie, and Bailey all could care less. Of course they have been in it before, it's nothing new to them.
I like seeing when they try to take steps thinking that if they walk slow enough and step high enough then they won't get in the snow...it's so funny.
When I had Boxer he loved the snow. He did bunny hops all through it. He would take and bury his nose in it and get huge bites of it. He had a blast romping around in it.

Hi there Moondancer
Yes it is funny when they try to walk in it I just could not help laughing at him
I think it is because they are so low to the Ground lol
A couple of my previous Dogs used to love the Snow to and I used to love watching them in it
Well I hope the Baby will be well wrapped up tomorrow lol

Oh yes, they will be. Even my big boy, Ninja has a coat. My boys love getting dressed...they know that means they get to go outside. I have lots of sweaters, coats, shoes, and scarfs...some times I'm asked why I torture my babies with all of this. My reply is they are inside all of the tie like we are and they get use to the inside temps and when they go out they get cold just like we do...even though they have gorgeous coats...they still get cold. They wear their coats all the time inside and out. It stands to reason that if they go out they need extra coverage.
Why must we explain this in laymans terms for some people? lol

I would love to be able to walk in some snow with Poppy and see what her reaction is to it, as she has never ever seen snow. I'm sure I would find her as amusing as Gissi was when you took him out for a walk in it - she being tiny, and with short legs also! You should take a pic next time Gabs, and post it, I'd love to see Gissi trying to walk in it! I can imagine he wouldn't be very impressed!

Tell Gissi that Poppy has a very good imagination, so as long as he wishes it to her, she will get it! Stay safe when you are travelling to your kids Gaby - I know the snow is disappearing, but you still need your wits about you when on the roads at this time of year. Luvya! xx

We don't let the cats out, so they had to view our one and only snowy day from the window. I guess Gissi isn't too fond of the stuff though. maybe you should send some of your snow over to Salisbury. P1key is complaining that he doesn't have any!

No snow in Australia I’m afraid! I wanted to respond because Gissi sounds like such a cute little character! I put a coat on my dog Cassie once and she hated it! She started biting into it until we took it off; I’m sure she would have ripped it to shreds if we had left it on her! Was this the first time Gissi has walked in snow? My animals wouldn’t know what the heck was going on if it started snowing here! (LOL) Come to think of it...Neither would I!!!

I love to watch little dogs in the snow. They are so funny and full of trepidation. Maybe Gissi needs some of the little boots they make for doggies.
My oldest daughter has a Shih tzu, and last year, she allowed her to do her business in the snow on the deck, since it was so deep everywhere and Abbey hates going out in it. Her paw pads get cold so easily. Well one day last winter, is was below, and Abbey did NOT want to go out in it, even just onto the deck.
My duaghter pushed her out the door anyway, and Abbey took a breath with her little pug nose, and tipped over, boom, onto her side. She had briefly passed out. It's not funny, but, um...yes, it is!! Can you picture it? LOL

yep indoor animals don't like the cold and the snow it hurts their tender little feet. My cats won't even go near the door when they feel the cold air come in when someone comes in.

I am glad that you enjoyed your walk with your dog. I can imagine that he looked so cute trying to walk through the snow. It has not snowed where we live at yet. But I would not be surprised if we get some snow right before Christmas Day. Or maybe on this day. Enjoy your holiday's with Gissi and the snow.

Hey gabs! Oh how I wish you would have gotten a photo of poor
little Gissi in the snow! I wish I could take my babies out in
the snow too! I might be able to take Star, but now way would
Mr. Priss Luna ever dare venture out in it! We are expecting
quite a bit of the white stiff too this weekend! If the weather
people are right we just might get 6 inches or more! I don't ever
believe them until I see it! So maybe this time we just might
get the almost 10 or more inches they are predicting! We did want
a white Christmas you know, but it could have waited until after
I got my Christmas turkey and such! I'm sorry Gissi doesn't like
the snow! I have a dog, Winky that didn't really like it either!
He hated getting his little feet wet too!
