Do you have friends or relatives that use a double-barrelled surname?

In my country, it seems like most of the people who use double -barrelled surnames (ie. combining their surname and their spouses' with a hyphen) are high-society people. Do you know people who have double-barrelled surnames? I always wonder what happens when their kids get married? Triple hyphens? haha. just a quirky question for a quiet afternoon.

That's interesting.. haha =D I dun have frenz with such names yet.. And i think u are right.. They tend to be high-society ple, due to those western influences, and also, wanting to differentiate themselves from commoners.. haha =D As u can see, even the children of celebrities have kinda special names which we dun even hear it out there.. So i guess, the richer one is, the more unique their name will be, in order to stand out?? haha

Interesting... I have never come across such surnames before! As in, Mr Tan married Ms Lim, and they started calling themselves Mr&Mrs Tan-Lim? Why would anyone want to do that? What is the purpose or significance of it?

I have a classmate with a weird surname. His surname is Ong Hoa. Yes, it a space in between and no hypen. When our professor ask him why is it like that he just answered "I am not interested on knowing it so I don't ask my parents". Weird right? :D
