The first thing that came to mind when I read this discussion was when I lost my USB flash drive last year. I was really worried when I lost it cause flash drives are a student's extra life.
I mean all your files and pictures are there. All the important projects and term papers are there. Then to lose it in just a minute. It was actually my fault. I forgot to take it out of the USP port and the electricity went out. I forgot that I didnt keep it yet. It was about a few hours before I even realized that I had forgotten it. I was slightly getting to frantic just looking for it, contacting people who might have gotten it.
Long story short, someone gave me the wrong number. It was totally waay of that the person who owned the number is miles from where I am. It started with that then we became friends. He was good company even when it was just through sms. He did help me answer some of my homework too.LOL We are still friends but we only communicate through a second degree friend.

Well, I felt that a lot of those things have happened to me, wherein I was doomed about something but it turned out quite favorable for me. But I couldnt think of a specific one aside from the one mentioned. So I guess that response is meant for this discussion.^_^

It has happened to me a couple of times. Me and my girlfriend visited Tirupathi. She is German, so there was a special queue for foreigners, and they could obtain direct darshan slips... so I was lucky enough that I could go with her, even though I was Indian. That was the first blessing in disguise. The second was to follow when we reached the deity. She was given a special treatment to take a longer time to have a look at the deity, and with her, I also could take part and just bow to the Lord with all my devotion. This was an extreme blessing in disguise. Ha ha..

yes when I was made redundant from a job I had worked at for years I had plans to open up a gift shop, I looked at many shops and settled on one that I liked, I went to sign the papers and the agent said he would get back to me after he spoke to the owner...he never did get back to me and now that I look at all the other shops that I were like the one I was going to have all wnet down and I got to spend quality time with my mother before she passed away.....

I am not one that observe carefully whats next that comes after a misfortune. My neighbor who lost her only child in a freak accident was shocked beyond words when her lost was compensated by a big windfall as she won the highest jackpot in a lottery draw few years ago just a month after the accident. I am just wondering whether this is what we call a blessing in disguise but to me nothing can compensate the lost of her son.

There used to be a policy at Grand Union that if they made a mistake at the cash register, you're groceries were free. They made a mistake one time and I received $25 in groceries for free. Probably explains why they went out of business up here. The one item they made a mistake on for free would have been plenty, but the entire grocery list? Not very many mistakes before a personw would be poor.

I'm sure there are few things that I've done that could have either bitten me in the butt or turned out to work for me. I would have to sit down and go through the rolodex in my mind to pull a few out. I've had some blessings in disguise like getting fired from a job, it lead me to becoming a stay at home dad and allowing me to travel.

Not once but many times. When such thing happens we curse our luck but in the long run it turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
