Oh God, I've got 3 - 2 are rescues - and to me they're like dogs. Our youngest, Smokey, is only 10 weeks old and a total baby. He really teases Billy, my oldest. last night we brought them all indoors to celebrate New Year's Eve. As you do. Smokey kept jumping over Billy, trying to get him to play. Billy gave up and snook under the Christmas tree. When he thought "the coast was clear" out he came for a snack - and back came Smokey, in full-on "naughty puppy" mode. Hilarious! I really feel for you, not having your bun - to me, they're the greatest, most loving pets ever. I hate the idea of mine one day dying on me ... sob ....

They don't live indoors all the time?

No - the two eldest live outdoors in a hutch (well protected from the weather, mind, and we brought them indoors when it was snowing) They have a run under their sleeping quarters, and they also run loose in the garden sometimes. Little Billy - the baby - is a dwarf rabbit so he's kept inside. But rabbits are like donkeys - they enjoy the outdoors! Well, mine do. My neighbour wasn't keen when Anubis (Newbie for short) tunnelled into their vegetable patch, mind. That was a "Mister McGregor moment" if ever there was one ...

You sound like you take great care of your bunnies.I had mine indoors.I didn't have a yard.Where I was living I would have put a lock on his cage ,if he were outdoors,I would feel like someone may steal him.I always felt bad for some bunnies left outside in a cage, because some people just forget about them, they love attention from people. They are a great pet to have. Thanks for your response!

Aw, that's sad that you had to get rid of her. I have two rabbits. One from a college student who got rid of him when he was 4 years old. Now he's 14! He's a sweetie. And then I've got my bratty rabbit that I found running around outside. She's probably about 3-4 years old now. My other rabbit used to do bunny dances (crazy jumps through the air) when he was younger, but bratty rabbit doesn't do this. Still, since the other rabbit is so old now, she is the more entertaining rabbit but you have to watch out for her because she will destroy anything in her path.

Definitely. I hope someday I will have another rabbit that does such crazy jumps. My Floppy rabbit just doesn't seem to do those.

It's great when they do those sudden jumps, isn't it? That was what Smokey was doing to Billy - "Hey, come on granddad - come and play!" "Nuh-uh" said Gramps, as he high tailed it to the Christmas tree. Sorry. Anthropomorphising again.

I have 6 rabbits, and they live inside the house. I have many other pets and I love of all them, but I must admit that my rabbits are my favourite pets. The oldest rabbits are a ýear and a half, one of them is black and the other one is white. A few months later I got two more rabbits, one of them is brown and the other one brown/grey. They are not as tame as the oldest rabbits, and they seem less outgoing than the others. My youngest rabbits are black/grey and grey/white, and they are also pretty tame.

I've had dogs, cats and bunnies, and I'd say bunnies give as much love as dogs do - not at all aloof like cats. The closest I can get in temperament is when I had my old horse many years ago. same kind of diet, same kind of character I guess.
